Day by Day Overview

Your journey begins in the early morning with a professional pick-up from your hotel or upon arrival at either Arusha (ARK) or Kilimanjaro (JRO) Airport, after which you will immediately commence the scenic drive to Tarangire National Park.

Upon arrival and entry, your full-day game drive begins, immersing you in a stunning landscape defined by massive baobab trees and the famous, enormous herds of African elephants for which the park is known. Throughout the morning, your expert guide will traverse the wilderness, tracking key wildlife, including lions, leopards, hyenas, along with abundant plains game such as zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, buffaloes, impalas, baboons, Thompson’s gazelles and a vast variety of bird and plant species.

At midday, the drive will pause at a designated picnic site for a delicious lunch break in the bush, offering a chance to relax and absorb the sounds of the wilderness. The afternoon game drive is focused on the pivotal Tarangire River, especially during the dry season, as this crucial water source guarantees a high concentration of wildlife, offering you a 100% chance to see large numbers of both herbivores and carnivores gathering to drink. If you are exceptionally lucky, you may even capture the thrilling glimpse of the predators hunting their prey witnessing the dramatic chase and the strategic escapes that define survival in the wild.

In the late evening, you will exit the park and drive to the picturesque Marera Valley Lodge, where you will enjoy a delightful dinner and a restful overnight stay at a lodge, set against the stunning view of the local coffee plantations.

Your second day begins with a hearty breakfast at your Marera Valley accommodation before you depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, driving through the beautiful highlands towards this globally significant natural monument. The highlight of the morning is the highly anticipated descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most breathtaking natural wonders. You will drop approximately 600 meters down the crater walls into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera a true, self-contained wildlife paradise teeming with life.

You will spend the entire day on an extensive game drive across the crater floor, offering the highest probability of sighting the Big Five in one location, including large populations of lions, elephants, and buffaloes, and the critically endangered black rhinos, making this a particularly competitive viewing experience. You will marvel at the ethereal sight of flocks of flamingos coloring the crater lakes pink, and watch vast herds of zebras, wildebeest, and gazelles roam freely alongside hippos basking in the shimmering pools.

Midday features a specially prepared picnic lunch inside the crater, allowing you to pause the game drive and fully soak in the panoramic, Eden-like views of this unique geological masterpiece. In the late noon, you will ascend the crater rim, pausing for one final, spectacular view before continuing your journey towards the vast Serengeti National Park. The drive is incredibly scenic, passing through the highlands and onto the iconic, endless short-grass plains that define the Serengeti.

You will arrive at your camp in time for an exhilarating evening game drive, specifically timed to capture the golden hues of the setting sun and increasing your chances of spotting predators like leopards or cheetahs beginning their nightly hunt. Your eventful day concludes upon arrival at Tanzania Bush Camp for a delicious dinner and a restful overnight stay, accompanied by the unforgettable sounds of the Serengeti night.

After a sumptuous bush breakfast at Tanzania Bush Camp, you will set out for an unforgettable, full-day safari across the legendary Serengeti National Park, where the wild heart of Africa beats strongest. Your journey will traverse the sweeping golden plains and iconic acacia landscapes, focusing on the Central Serengeti (Seronera Valley), which is world-famous for its incredible concentration of wildlife and guaranteed sightings of the Big Five and numerous other species.

Your expert Stan Safaris guide will systematically track prides of lions and the swift cheetahs, while also searching for the elusive leopard and rare black rhino, ensuring maximum opportunity for dramatic predator-prey encounters. If your journey aligns with the season, you will witness the awe-inspiring Great Wildebeest Migration, where thousands upon thousands of wildebeest and zebras thunder across the plains in a breathtaking display of life and survival truly one of nature’s grandest shows.

Midday features a specially prepared, delicious picnic lunch at a scenic spot inside the park, fully immersing you in the wilderness, before the afternoon drive continues until the soft light of the golden hour. As night falls, you will return to the exceptional comfort and intimacy of the Tanzania Bush Camp for a delectable dinner under the stars and a final night’s overnight stay, accompanied by the magical and authentic sounds of the Serengeti wilderness.

The final day of your extraordinary safari begins with an early, hearty breakfast at the lodge, allowing you to maximize the final hours of prime wildlife viewing. Immediately following breakfast, you will embark on a concluding half-day game drive in the Serengeti. This morning drive is specifically designed to capitalize on the crisp morning light, which is ideal for photography and for spotting predators returning from their nightly hunts, offering one last chance to capture sightings of the magnificent wildlife that may have eluded you.

You will depart the Serengeti mid-morning, driving across the plains and through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands. This transition brings you to a unique and enriching experience a visit to a traditional Maasai village. Here, you will be genuinely welcomed and fully immersed in the vibrant Maasai culture. You will witness mesmerizing traditional dances (including the famous adumu or jumping dance), learn to wear the iconic Maasai shuka, receive a fascinating demonstration on traditional fire-making techniques, and explore the structure and rhythm of their homes and daily life, providing a deep, respectful cultural exchange that leaves a lasting impression.
