Mid Range
Dreaming of an island holiday? Maybe some sun, sand and sea are exactly what you need. There is no better way to get away from it all than relaxing on a tropical beach. Whether you want to go to beautiful Zanzibar, where this safari takes you, one of Africa’s must-see bucket list destinations, or you are in the mood to explore one of the lesser-known island escapes, such as Pemba or Mafia, Tanzania has it covered. On this safari, explore Zanzibar's fascinating Stone Town, stunning beaches and lush forest, which is home to red colobus monkey, Ader's duiker, Fischer's turaco and more.
Stone Town: a World Heritage UNESCO site where sultans lived, princesses loved and slaves were bought and sold. Stone Town is a patchwork of architectural styles originating in Arabia, Asia, the Swahili coast and beyond. The intricately carved Zanzibar doors are world famous.
Jozani Forest: the forest protects the last substantial remnant of indigenous forest that once covered most of central Zanzibar. The main tourist attraction is the Kirk’s red colobus monkey, unique to Zanzibar. It is also home to the Ader’s duiker, a small antelope, endemic to Zanzibar, as well as being the best birding site on the island, hosting a good range of coastal forest birds including an endemic race of the beautiful Fischer’s turaco.
