Tanzania has some of the top safari national parks in the world, with breathtaking landscapes, plentiful animals, and a unique cultural landscape. This safari will take you to Serengeti National Park in northern Tanzania, which is known for its vast yearly migration of wildebeest and zebra, as well as Ngorongoro Crater, which offers blue-green panoramas and an unrivalled concentration of animals. Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park are two of the most famous and well-known national parks in the world. In both parks you will be able to observe a great diversity of animals at close quarters. Get ready to get in touch with the wildlife of Africa.

If you are being picked up from Arusha, your safari will begin at 8 am and 6am if you are being picked up from Kilimanjaro accommodation. After a short briefing with your tour guide about the day ahead we begin the safari. The 240 km trip will take roughly 6 hours. In the indigenous African language, Serengeti means “endless plains,” and seeing the grassland stretch out as far as the eye can see before merging with the sky at the horizon is a spectacular sight. It puts conventional notions of distance to shame with a total land area of 14,763 square kilometres.
The Serengeti National Park is also home to the magnificent “Big Five” (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard). The Serengeti’s middle region, known as Seronera, is one of the park’s most diverse wildlife areas. It includes the Seronera River, which serves as a vital water source for the area, attracting wildlife that is representative of the Serengeti’s diversity. In Seronera, keep an eye out for the several lion prides that call this area home. You should also keep an eye out for the Serengeti’s “Kopjes,” which are gigantic granite boulders floating in a sea of grass.
The day ends with a hearty dinner and a restful night’s sleep in your lodging.
After breakfast you will head out on a morning wildlife drive in the Serengeti National Park. Later you will enjoy a picnic lunch in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest collapsed volcano crater, measuring fourteen kilometres in diameter and surrounded by natural splendour. The Ngorongoro Crater is ringed by ancient volcanoes, and its floor, filled with watering holes, is home to 30,000 species. The day ends with a hearty dinner and a restful night’s sleep in your lodgings.
After a quick breakfast, you will head out at approximately 6.30 am to begin an early descent into the crater floor. The world’s largest inactive, undamaged, and unfilled volcanic crater is the Ngorongoro Crater. It has a vast floor area of over 260 square kilometres and a depth of over 2000 feet. The 5-hour game drive on the crater floor will provide plenty of opportunities to see animals in action. It’s always a good idea to keep the camera handy.
Elephant, buffalo, black rhino, hippo, hyena, cheetah and lion can all be found in abundance. Following a picnic lunch by the lovely hippo pool, you will begin a difficult ascent to the crater’s top exit. This is the final phase of your safari, with a four-hour trip to Arusha remaining. By 6/7 pm you will be dropped off at your favourite spot in Arusha or Moshi. This is the time to say your goodbyes to your team after a fantastic adventure and a lifetime of memories.
