Day by Day Overview
After breakfast, we pick you up from a hotel in Arusha town then drive straight to Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with game viewing en route. This is about an 8-hour drive. Once in the Serengeti National Park, we spend the rest of the day game driving around the Seronera area.
The Serengeti is divided into three main areas with the Seronera area the most central and accessible region. This is where the Park HQ is based as well as most of the larger lodges and busier campsites and the part of the Serengeti that you will have seen in wildlife documentaries, characterized by the open plains of grassland packed with animals. The Seronera River is the lifeblood of the Serengeti and this area is renowned for great game viewing all year round. It is also particularly good for lion and cheetah sightings, as well as the most elusive of all big cats, the leopard. After a tiring long drive and some game viewing, you will then be transferred to a campsite for dinner and overnight.
Today the game drive will start at sunrise, at around 06:00 am, after a simple breakfast (a cup of coffee and snacks). At this time of the day the Serengeti plains are more active and it’s a great time to spot a lot of animals and birds which are waking up. Predators are on the hunt for prey and herbivorous are feeding on grasses so this becomes a great time to see many animals and perhaps observe some real adventures such as animals hunting. After the morning game drive you will drive back to the camp (or picnic site) for a full breakfast then proceed with an afternoon game drive (including lunch) until the evening.
Wake up early in the morning, have an early morning game drive, with an optional balloon safari (at extra cost), then drive back to the campsite for breakfast and check out, with our picnic lunch. Enjoy an early afternoon game drive en route to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will reach the Ngorongoro Crater in the late evening for dinner and overnight at the Simba campsite located on the slopes of the crater rim.
Have an early breakfast, then we will pick up our lunch boxes before departure for a game drive in the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater. For many, this wildlife spectacle is the pinnacle of their safari experience. The Ngorongoro Crater is home to all of the ‘Big 5’, including a small population of endangered black rhino. After a picnic lunch, we proceed out of the crater rim with a game drive and then towards Arusha for drop off.
