On the journey to Jinja, in Mukono District, lies Ssezibwa Falls – a breathtaking waterfall formed by the Ssezibwa River. Steeped in legend and cultural heritage, the falls are surrounded by lush vegetation and ancient rock formations. Regarded as a sacred site by the Baganda people, Ssezibwa offers visitors a peaceful escape for birdwatching, hiking, and cultural exploration.
Also en route to Jinja is Mabira Forest, one of Uganda’s largest and most ecologically significant rainforests. Rich in biodiversity, the forest is home to over 300 bird species, various monkey species, colourful butterflies, and rare indigenous trees.
