Tour Overview

Explore Kenya’s Tsavo East National Park, known as ‘Theatre of the Wild’, see the sight of dust-red elephants wallowing, rolling and spraying each other with the blue waters of palm-shaded Galana River and the 300 km long Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world. The park forms the largest protected area in Kenya and is home to most of the larger mammals including elephants, buffaloes, rhino, lion, leopard, hippo, crocodile, waterbucks, lesser kudu, gerenuk and more. There’s also prolific bird life with 500 recorded species. Tsavo East is close to the beaches of Mombasa so is an easy escape from the beach for a night or two at the much adored and strategically built Ashnil Aruba Lodge.

Dinner & Overnight at Ashnil Aruba Lodge

Ashnil Aruba Lodge, in the heart of Tsavo East National Park in Kenya, is in a superb location, just a couple of hours from the coast of Mombasa and 5 hours leisurely drive from Nairobi. Featuring 46 rooms and 6 tents, its situated on the banks of Aruba Dam which was built in 1952 as a sport fishing recreational point in the park. Several watering holes nearby attract wildlife and spotting animals is easy because the park lies flat with savannah grassland. After your game drive you can take a dip in the swimming pool or simply relax by the pool which overlooks the game park. This is the perfect place to relax and laze around in the calm afternoons. The lounge is located in the main building away from the main dining area. The décor has an African touch that makes it a wonderful place to pass time and relax. A variety of drinks are served and include liqueur, soft drinks, cocktails, wines, spirits, local and international beers.

Head out on an early morning game drive before breakfast. Afterwards drive along the Nairobi/Mombasa Highway to the coast of Kenya where you will be dropped off at  your beach hotel/port of exit (airport or sea port).
