Today, after enjoying your warm breakfast at your lodge, you will set off in your pop up rooftop or open sided safari vehicle for a game drive through the park. You will be able to spot numerous wildlife including elephants, giraffes, Jackson’s hartebeest, Uganda kobs, defassa waterbuck, buffaloes, warthog, hippos, oribi and, on a lucky day, leopard and lion. The game drive might take 3–4 hours. Afterwards return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will go for a boat cruise. This will take you to the bottom of Murchison Falls, and takes two hours, rewarding you with spotting wildlife such as the Nile crocodile, hippos, elephants and numerous bird species. Enjoy the spectacular views of the amazing waterfalls and later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
After your morning breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters for a short briefing by park officials ahead of your chimpanzee trekking adventure. Then set your foot into the forest in search of the chimpanzee primates where you will be allowed one hour of being close and observing these primates after finding them. Kibale National Park is a great home for primates, protecting 13 primate species with the chimpanzees as the key feature. You will have a memorable encounter with the chimps while observing their behaviour and life style in the jungle. Later you will return to the lodge for well deserved lunch. In the afternoon you will head for a walk in the Bigodi swamp wetland to see more primates like monkeys and a variety of birds which inhabit the swamps. Your dinner and overnight will be at your lodge: Kyaninga Lodge (luxury lodge), Kibale Chimpanzee Guest House (mid-range lodge) or Rweteera Safari Park (budget lodge).
In the morning having had your breakfast, you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Upon arrival you will go for a short game drive, come back for lunch and in the afternoon you will enjoy a boat cruise along Kazinga channel where you will be able to watch numerous animals that roam the shores and see hippos, crocodiles as well as water birds such as fish eagles, kingfishers, the great white and pink-backed Ppelicans, African shoebill, yellow billed stork and many others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
In the morning you will go for a sunrise game drive in the park for encounters with wildlife which includes herds of elephants, African buffaloes, giraffes, Uganda kobs, impalas, giant forest hogs and warthogs, with either a bush breakfast or breakfast from your lodge. You will continue with your game drive, perhaps be really lucky and spot a leopard somewhere in the bush, and after lunch you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park driving through Ishasha sector to search for the tree climbing lions which will give you a magical wildlife experience. Dinner and overnight will be at your booked accommodation in Bwindi.
After breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters for a short briefing about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. Once the briefing is done you will then head into the mountainous jungle in search of the gorillas, which might take 4-6 hours depending on their movement. After finding them you will entitled to one hour of observing these great apes, watching their behaviour and lifestyle in the jungle, which is a truly amazing experience. You can take photos and videos and get up close to them. Afterwards you will return back to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon you will head to the nearby local community where you get an insight into the culture and traditional lifestyle of the local people, and experience the lifestyle of the Batwa, the first ever people to live in the forests who were evacuated due to the conservation plans.
