Welcome to Kenya! This morning you will be picked up from Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or a Nairobi city hotel by an expert safari guide. After a short safari briefing on the events ahead, you will depart for Tsavo West National Park. You will check in at the lodge and have lunch before departing in the afternoon for a game drive. From the sight of fifty million gallons of crystal clear water gushing out of the under-parched lava rock that is the Mzima Springs to the Shetani lava flows, Tsavo West is a beautiful, rugged wilderness. The savannah ecosystem comprises open grasslands, scrublands, and acacia woodlands, belts of riverine vegetation and rocky ridges including the Poacher’s Lookout where you can see the teeming herds in the plains below. Tsavo West offers some of the most magnificent game viewing in the world and attractions.
Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Kilaguni Lodge
After breakfast, you will check out with an en-route game viewing drive at the Tsavo West with a stop at the Mzima Springs. Later, you will proceed to Tsavo East National Park after breakfast in search of its popular residents. During the day, you will enjoy a packed lunch. The sight of dust-red elephants wallowing, rolling and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters of the palm-shaded Galana River is one of the most evocative images in Africa. This, along with the 300-kilometer-long Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world, makes for an adventure unlike any other in the Tsavo East. The park forms the largest protected area in Kenya. It is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust–red elephants, rhinos, buffalos, lions, leopards, pods of hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, lesser kudus, gerenuks and the prolific bird life features 500 recorded species.
Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Ashnil Aruba Camp
You will depart early in the morning after breakfast towards Amboseli National Park, arriving in time for lunch. Your guide will take you on an afternoon game drive. Located at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa. Amboseli National Park is one of the most popular parks in Kenya. One of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. On a clear evening, you can catch a view of the magnificent Mount Kilimanjaro.
Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge
Enjoy a full day in Amboseli National Park with the option of a full-day game drive or morning and afternoon game drives. Amboseli is home to great herds of elephants and with the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, a favourite spot for photographers. Also to be found in the Amboseli are herds of wildebeest, buffaloes, gazelles and many other wildlife. Lions and cheetahs can also be seen here. During clear days, you may also view the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, which is the tallest mountain in Africa. There is also a chance to visit the local communities in their nearby villages at an extra cost.
Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Amboseli Serena Camp
You’ll exit Amboseli and depart for Lake Elmenteita where a world of adventure and relaxation awaits you. You will have lunch en route. You will arrive in the afternoon at Elementaita Serena Camp which offers the modern comforts of a five-star facility blended seamlessly with the rich history and culture for which Soysambu is famous. You’ll experience nature in a new way by taking early-morning walks. Led by an experienced naturalist, the one-hour walk begins right at the camp, through the sprawling acacia thickets right to the lake shore. This is one of the rarest opportunities to walk designated Ramsar and UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Tucked among golden-barked acacia trees, under the shadow of ancient volcanoes, Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp is a truly magical holiday setting. It has a small, immaculately maintained tented upscale safari camp on the shores of Lake Elmenteita, a flamingo-filled Lake in Kenya’s Soysambu Conservancy.
Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Elementaita Serena Camp
After an early breakfast, you will depart for a magical drive descending the Great Rift Valley and onwards to Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya’s famous game reserve. You’ll stop briefly en route at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint to enjoy the stunning views of an enormous valley system said to be visible from outer space. You will arrive on time for lunch at the camp. After lunch, you will have an afternoon game drive which will allow spotting of the magnificent wildlife in the park. Bordering Tanzania, the Mara is in the northern extension of Serengeti and forms a wildlife corridor between the two countries where the great wild beasts’ migration can be viewed. In the Mara River, throngs of hippos and crocodiles lurk. The reserve is also known for providing excellent predator sightings thanks to its relatively large population of lions, cheetahs and leopards.
Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Mara Sarova Tented Camp
You will rise early in the morning when the animals are most active for a morning game drive with your guide. If you are fortunate enough you will catch lions during one of their rare bouts of daytime activities. It can be fascinating to watch the social interaction between pride members especially the playful ways of lion cubs under the watchful eyes of their mothers. You will return to the camp for a mouthwatering breakfast. Your guide will then take you to the nearby Maasai village at an extra cost where you will get a chance to see the Maasai way of life (optional). You will return to the camp for lunch before setting out for an afternoon game drive. Here you will be driven over rolling grassland dotted with a mixture of acacia trees and plain game which includes large herds of elephants, zebras, and gazelles.
