Day by Day Overview
You will be picked up from your hotel, residence or the airport. Depart for Maasai Mara with the first stop at the escarpment view point. Later descend the escarpment and travel on to Narok town for an early lunch. You will arrive at your camp in the late afternoon, check in then enjoy an evening game drive until sunset. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Breakfast at the camp then leave with a packed lunch for an extensive 9-hour game viewing drive. Maasai Mara has the highest number of different species and you will hopefully be lucky to see hundreds of them. A game drive to Mara River is excellent and if it’s migration time you might witness crocodiles and hippos at the river while the migration crosses. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park then continue with the game drive. Leave the park for at least two hours optional activity: relax at the camp, take a nature walk with Maasai warriors, or visit the Maasai village. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast check out and leave the Maasai Mara for Lake Nakuru, with lunch enroute. Enjoy an evening game drive at Lake Nakuru which is famous for the endangered species (rhinos) and the flamingos. Sometimes the flamingos are very few but you are almost guaranteed of seeing the rhinos amongst other big five species. Return to lodge for the evening.
After breakfast at the hotel enjoy an early morning game drive as you head to Lake Naivasha. Here visit the Hells Gate for afternoon activities – this is the only place one can walk inside the park as their no predators. You will decide whether to do the game drive with the safari vehicle or hire a bicycle to cycle the 11 kms down to gorge. At the gorge a guide will take you and share information about the rock layers. Late drive/cycle back to the gate.
After breakfast at the hotel, there’s the option to drive to Crescent Island or enjoy a boat ride. Leave Naivasha with lunch enroute back to Nairobi. Drop off at Nairobi Hotel or be transferred to airport to catch your onward flight.
