Day by Day Overview

After breakfast, you will be picked up at your hotel in Nairobi. Your journey begins as you make your way to the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Here you will stop at the valley viewpoint for some amazing photos before continuing past Mount Longonot and the Suswa Mountain Range towards the famous grassland plains of the Masai Mara National Reserve. You will reach the massive wildlife haven within 6 hours, greeted by vast open spaces that are home to thousands of African animal and bird species. Arrive in time for a delicious meal at your preferred lodge (pre-booked) before some afternoon down time. Later you will head out for an evening game drive in the reserve as you search for some of the big five before enjoying a spectacular sunset over the plains then make your way back to camp for a well deserved dinner.

Meal plan: lunch & dinner

Today you will have the chance to explore the massive reserve for a full day. Two options are available, either a full day game drive with a packed lunch or morning and evening game drives while spending the heat of the day at the lodge. If you are travelling between July and November with the aim of seeing the wildebeest migration, the full day option is advised. This gives you the opportunity to visit the Mara River to witness some of the most spectacular wildlife scenes as the herds attempt to cross the crocodile infested waters. The morning and evening game drive options allow for lunch at camp while also giving you time to visit a Masai Village as an optional excursion. Regardless of your choice, you will enjoy a magical day out in Africa before returning to your lodge for a thirst quenching sundowner and a delicious meal.

Meal plan: breakfast, lunch & dinner

After a leisurely breakfast, you will head out for your final morning game drive, visiting a region of the park you have not yet seen for your last chance to see the animals you are yet to find. On your game drive, you will head towards the border of the reserve, making your way back to Nairobi. Depending on your time constraints, you will have the option of stopping in Narok for lunch before making your way to your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your trip.
