Day by Day Overview
Depart Nairobi in the morning and journey through the scenic Great Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge or camp, followed by an afternoon game drive. Explore the vast savannahs teeming with wildlife, including lions, elephants, cheetahs, and wildebeests. Return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Spend the entire day exploring the Maasai Mara. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, with a picnic lunch to maximize your time in the wild. Visit the Mara River to spot hippos and crocodiles, and, if lucky, witness the spectacular wildlife interactions.
Optional: Hot air balloon safari at sunrise for a bird’s-eye view of the reserve.
After breakfast, depart Maasai Mara and travel to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge followed by an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru is renowned for its flamingos and offers opportunities to see rhinos, lions, and leopards.
Enjoy an early breakfast before heading to Lake Naivasha. Upon arrival, embark on a boat ride to explore the serene waters and spot hippos and birds. Visit Crescent Island for a walking safari, where you can get up close to giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife.
In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive at Hell’s Gate National Park, known for its dramatic landscapes, geothermal features, and opportunities to cycle or hike alongside wildlife.
After breakfast, take a leisurely drive back to Nairobi, arriving by midday. Optional stops can include the Great Rift Valley viewpoints or a local craft market.
