Depending on your location in Entebbe / Kampala on the first day of the safari, you will be welcomed by our representative or driver guide who will give you a brief insight into the safari. You then start your journey to Kibale Forest National Park. On the way, you will have lunch en-route and enjoy stunning views of traditional homesteads, local people, tea plantations, beautiful sceneries, views of the Rwenzori mountains, and crater lakes, among others. Upon arrival in the park, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Accommodation Option: Kibale Canopy Lodge or Similar
After an early morning breakfast on day two of your safari, your driver guide will transfer you to the park headquarters for a chimpanzee trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will be grouped into 6 people allocated to a chimpanzee family to trek and park guide who will lead you into the forest during the trekking. Chimpanzee trekking is an interesting activity that starts at 8:00 am and takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours, depending on where the chimpanzees are located, because they like to move from one place to another in search of food, especially during the dry season.
During the trek, you will be able to see other primates like the red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, grey cheeked mangabey, and vervet monkeys, and view some bird species, mammals, and plant species, among others. Once the chimpanzees are found, you will be able to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat, which allows you to learn about their behaviors, habits, watch them feed, fight, play, hunt, mate, take photos, and record the moments. After the one hour with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to the park headquarters, where you will meet your driver guide and transfer back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for an interesting Bigodi swamp walk, where you will be able to view different primates, bird species, and plant and tree species, among others. After the swamp walk, you will go back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.
Accommodation Option: Kibale Canopy Lodge or Similar
Wake up on the last day of the three-day safari to have breakfast, get your things in order, and check out of the lodge. Afterwards, you will meet up with your driver guide to embark on your journey back to Kampala. On the way you will have en-route lunch and continue to Kampala. Upon arrival in Kampala, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight or drop you off at any place of your convenience. End of Tour.
