This safari will allow you to have an extended stay with the gorillas of four hours instead of the normal one hour. Researchers and scientists lead you as you help the gorillas to get used to human presence. This is a budget safari, if you need an upgrade, we can tailor it according to your travel style. The tour can start and end in Kigali or Entebbe.

Day by Day Overview
On this day, your driver-guide from Safari Vacations and Travel Services will be waiting for you at the airport. You’ll then be briefed about the tour and visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center (depending on the time available). Here, you’ll learn about the Rwanda Genocide of 1994 which was an anti-human tragedy. Later, you’ll embark on your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the mountain gorillas. You’ll check in to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Dinner and overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge
On the second day of your tour, you’ll wake up to an early morning breakfast. Then, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a 7:00 am briefing, which will allow you to understand the rules and regulations to follow doing the gorilla habituation. After the briefing, you’ll be divided into groups of 4, and you’ll head to the forest in search of these semi-habituated gorillas. accompanied by researchers, scientists, and a ranger. It’ll take you between 30 minutes to 5 hours to find them. Once you find them, you’ll spend 4 hours in their presence, witnessing several of their behaviors while researchers explain some of them. After that, you’ll have your packed lunch and head back to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.
Dinner and overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge
On this day, you’ll have breakfast at ease and then embark on the journey back to Kigali (or Entebbe). You’ll be dropped off at the airport or the hotel depending on where your program will be favoring. Your guide will say goodbye, and this will mark the end of the tour.
