Day by Day Overview

Depart Entebbe or Kampala for your 8–9 hour road transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. En route, meet and interact with the royal drum makers, stop at the equator and capture photographic memories. You will find that Ugandans are friendly and are eager to interact with visitors. Continue to Mbarara for lunch and then embark on your scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Dinner and overnight: Rushaga Gorilla Camp

After an early morning breakfast, you will head to the park offices for registration and join others for the dos and don’ts during your gorilla trek. Once this is done, you will trek through the thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the gorillas which can take you from half an hour to three quarters of the day. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. On your trek, you will be allowed to stay with them for an hour before trekking back to the park headquarters. It’s an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered creatures. The feeling is one unlike any other felt before, only you can find the fitting word to describe it, awestruck, magical, memorable, breathtaking…

Dinner and overnight: Rushaga Gorilla Camp

After your breakfast, you will be driven to Kampala or Entebbe for your post tour accommodation or you may choose to fly out of Uganda today. En route you make occasional stops to have a glimpse of Uganda’s rural life, watch herdsmen tend to their cattle, and take in the beautiful landscape as it all unfolds before you. A visit to the drum makers is one you shouldn’t miss; a look into the process of making the traditional drums. On arrival, you’ll be taken to the airport or your next accommodation.
