Tour Overview
This fantastic mobile safari takes you into the heart of Botswana’s spectacular Okavango Delta. Explore the wetlands and waterways of this pristine safari destination, seek out its wealth of wildlife and enjoy sleeping under canvas. This wetland paradise is a magnet for game, some of which are permanent residents and some are migratory. Access to this area is restricted to safari operators so tourist numbers are low. Game viewing is done by vehicle, boat or traditional mokoro. This trip starts in the dryer eastern area around Khwai, before moving west into the Moremi Reserve where you explore the reed lined channels by boat. Stay in comfortable permanent bush camps or in a mobile safari camp.

Day by Day Overview
We are welcomed in Maun and taken for a light lunch before being transferred to our first comfortable bush camp on the Lagoon of the Gomoti River. The first evening in the African bush is spent relaxing around the campfire under the bright stars of the southern hemisphere. Duncans Tented Camp (light lunch & dinner)
The morning starts with a guided walk before being road transferred through the park to our concession tented camp. Lunch is served picnic style en route. Our camp is in a private concession adjoining Moremi Game Reserve. There are no fences between the reserve and the private concession making our night drive even more fantastic. Hyena Pan Camp (all meals)
Today our guide takes us on game drives exploring the Khwai floodplains where the serenity of the surrounding wilderness is overpowering. You can do an optional two hour mokoro excursion (at your own expense). Hyena Pan Camp (all meals)
After breakfast our guide transfers us to Xakanaxa boat station with the opportunity to see wildlife on the way. A boat excursion takes us into the Okavango channels and lagoon areas en route to our tented camp on an island in the heart of the Delta. Here we have the chance of seeing hippos, crocodiles and the birdlife endemic to the area. Gcadikwe Island Tented Camp (all meals)
We further explore the channels and waterways of the beautiful Okavango Delta by boat with a visit to the Heronry (a natural nursery). After relaxing during the heat of the day we are taken on a sunset cruise to photograph the spectacular Delta sunset. Gcadikwe Island Tented Camp (all meals)
Enjoy a hearty breakfast before we are boated back to the boat station where a leisurely game drive transfers us to our next comfortable tented camp. The variety of bird species here will keep us enthralled. Late afternoon we have the opportunity to explore the area on a sundowner game drive. Third Bridge Tented Camp (all meals)
Our morning and afternoon game drives explore the area with its combination of open grasslands, woodland thicket and lagoons which create special habitat for cheetah, wild dog and honey badger. Third Bridge Tented Camp (all meals)
Our safari culminates today after breakfast with a drop off at the bush airstrip to meet your charter flight transfer back to Maun (breakfast)
