Day by Day Overview

After a relaxed breakfast you will receive a short briefing and then drive to Fort Portal through the beautiful green hills, traditional rural villages and tea plantations. Depending on your departure time, you will either arrive at the lodge in time for lunch or in the late afternoon in time for some pre-meal drinks and dinner.

After an early breakfast and some coffee, you will drive to the park’s headquarter for a pre-trek briefing and then begin your hike into the forest as you search for the chimps. As you trek through the forest, you may see various other primate species among the numerous bird and butterfly species. Once you find the chimpanzees, you will be able to spend an hour with the group, watching their family interactions. After your time in the forest, you will head back to the lodge, making your way via a local community. Arrive at the lodge and enjoy some lunch and relax by the pool. In the late afternoon you have the choice of going on an optional community walk or enjoying a massage.

Kibale Chimps

After a relaxed breakfast, you will head to Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing through Fort Portal and the foothills of the Mountain of the Moon. An en-route stop at the equator for some photos before continuing to your lodge for lunch. Enjoy some leisure time relaxing at the pool and later head out for an evening sundowner game drive in search of herds of elephants and the big cats. Return to camp for some dinner after some spectacular game viewing.

Kazinga Channel Elephants.

After witnessing a beautiful sunrise from the lodge terrace while enjoying a leisurely breakfast, you will head out for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains, which form part of the vast Savannah of the Albertine Rift Valley in the Queen Elizabeth National Park. Search for the big cats, elephants, buffaloes and various other antelopes on your drive. Later you will return to camp for lunch before heading out for a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel in the afternoon. Here you will be able to enjoy a different game viewing experience as you float past the animals that have come to drink. In the evening you will make your way back to the lodge in time for sunset drinks by the fire before dinner.

Boat Cruise Provides

Enjoy some breakfast before leaving the reserve and making your way to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, passing through the Ishasha Sector for a chance to see the famous tree-climbing lions. If you are lucky, you will be able to see the lions perched in a fig tree, keeping an eye out for the antelopes that roam the area. Have a picnic lunch beside the Ishasha River and enjoy sightings of the many hippos wallowing in the water and seeing the elephants come to drink. Later you will continue on to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, passing through some traditional communities along the way. Arrive in the evening and enjoy a delicious dinner.

After an early breakfast, you will head off into the famous Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and trek through the bamboo covered slopes in search for the magnificent mountain gorillas of Uganda. After a trek through the dense jungle you will be rewarded with face to face sightings of one of the rarest animals on earth. Sit in silence and observe these amazing gentle giants for one hour before heading back to the lodge for some lunch and leisure time. In the late afternoon, you will have the opportunity to go on an optional Batwa community walk for a chance to experience their unique culture or relax at the lodge and enjoy a massage before dinner.

Gorilla Mother

After some breakfast on the lodge terrace, while enjoying the sounds of the forest, you will make your way to the Kihihi Airfield. Catch a flight to Kajjansi Airfield near Entebbe, where you will be picked by your driver and taken to lunch at your hotel. Here you will have a day room where you can relax and freshen up before your flight home in the evening. You will be taken to the airport in time for your flight, marking the end of your safari in Uganda.
