On this Nepal tour combine a jungle safari in Chitwan National Park with trekking to Ghorepani when you witness the gigantic Himalayas. The trails to Ghorepani will offer an opportunity to view stunning sub-tropical valleys as well as forests and icy waterfalls. The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek begins from Nayapul, walking up to TikheDhunga, passing through grazing scenery as well as oak and rhododendron woods. Walk to Poon Hill for fantastic sunrise views over attention-grabbing peaks. After the trek head to Chitwan National Park for a wealth of wildlife encounters, beautiful views, cultural experiences and optional activities.

Day by Day Overviw

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu International Airport,  a Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure representative will be waiting for you outside the terminal gate (with a placard with your name). You will then be transferred to your hotel.

You will head for a day tour of the Kathmandu Valley to visit the major world heritage sites and beautiful attractions around the valley throughout today. Some of these might be:-

Swyambhunath Temple: Also known as the ‘Monkey Temple’, this is one of the oldest heritage sites of Nepal. From the temple viewpoint at the top, you can have a full-extent view of the Nepalese capital.

Pashupatinath Temple: One of the most significant Hindu temples of Asia with over 500 small and big shrines, Lingams, and temples in the temple complex.

Boudhanath Stupa: The largest stupa and center of Tibetan Buddhism in the Kathmandu valley. One of the best places to relax and take a hint of Buddhist culture in Kathmandu

Patan Darbar Square: An enchanting combination of palace buildings, artistic courtyards and graceful pagoda temples. The former royal palace complex is the center of Patan’s religious and social life, and houses a museum containing an array of bronze statues and religious objects. One remarkable monument here is a 17th-century temple dedicated to the Hindu god Krishna, built entirely of stone

After breakfast, our guide will take you to the bus station near Thamel. You will take a scenic highway drive out from Kathmandu to the beautiful city of Pokhara. This thrilling road is packed with wonderful sceneries and views to enjoy. Throughout the drive, we will take small breaks for snacks and lunch too. You will drive straight to your hotel here and rest for the day. In the evening you can take short walks to the lakeside area near your hotel. Overnight at Pokhara.

After breakfast, drive about 1.5 hours through the large village Lumle bringing you to Nayapul. The trek starts from here, dropping at first on a staircase and then traversing high above the river on a wide, stone-paved trail to a large and prosperous town Birethanti (1000m). The trekking trail today follows winding bamboo forests and waterfalls with plunge pools inviting you for a refreshing swim. Beyond a pasture used by pony caravans, the trail reaches a small village Sudami, where you can have your lunch. After lunch climb steadily up the side of the valley to reach Hille (1510m) and after a short walking, you will arrive at Tikhedunga, where you will spend the overnight at guest house.

One of the most important days of the entire trek, today we trek to Ghorepani passing Ulleri Village. Ghorepani lies at a height of 2860m and takes approximately 5 hours to reach. On the way, we will traverse TirkheDhunga and also go across a river through a bridge hung over Bhurungdi River. In addition, we will walk pass by grazing scenery and cultivated regions through oak as well as rhododendron woods. We will then arrive at Nangethanti and then finally reach Ghorepani. Overnight at tea house.

This day offers one of the most memorable experiences you’ve ever had. We will move early in the morning to Poon Hill which is located at the height of 3210m. Reaching  the top of the Poon Hill, we will be welcomed by the picturesque sunrise views over eye-catching peaks including Dhaulagiri (8167m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), Nilgiri (6940m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Annapurna South (7219m) and Tukuche (6920m). After that, we will walk to Tadapani taking just around 6 hours. Overnight at tea house.

From Tadapani, we will trek to Ghandruk, which lies at a height of 1900m, Here it seems like the community is unaffected by modernity. On the way, you can observe striking sub tropical valleys, thick rhododendron woods and frozen waterfalls as well as villagers, who apart from agriculture spend their time knitting baskets, clothes, and handle their resources. We can also see enormous Himalayan views of Dhaulagiri (8167m), Tukuche (6920m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Nilgiri (6940m), Annapurna South (7219m), Machhapuchhre (Fish Tail) (6993m), Annapurna I (8091m), Lamjung Himal (6931m) and many other peaks. Overnight at tea house.

Trekking for around 6 hours, we will walk down hill to reach Nayapul. We will pass the grazing lands on the way in Modi River valley and wander downhill with green cultivated farms to Modi River. Then we will go back to Nayapul before driving back to Pokhara. Overnight at hotel.

Today we drive to Chitwan National Park, which takes around 4 hours. We will visit the Park Visitor Centre where you can see the record of about plants and animals in Chitwan National Park. We can also see sunset views relaxing on the bank of Rapti River. In addition, you will also witness Tharu cultural dance performed by the local villagers.

This is the second day in Chitwan National Park and you experience a jungle safari. The park is home to 500 Asian one-horned rhinoceros, royal Bengal tiger, elephant, python, crocodile, deer and more. You will also see an elephant bath. Alternatively, you can go for canoe ride and enjoy a jungle walk. Here one can also get pleasure from bird watching on the river beach and see over 250 kinds of birds in the park. Overnight at hotel.

Leave Chitwan National Park, with striking memories of viewing a wide variety of plants, animals and birds, and return to Kathmandu, a journey of around 5 hours. Overnight in Kathmandu.
