Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha. It lies 230 km away from Kathmandu in Rupendehi District of Southern Terai (lowland); an altitude of 600 ft. above sea level. Lumbini also has many new monasteries in different nations. The China temple is a very beautiful pagoda-style temple with many prayers and meditation cells. In Lumbini, visitors can additionally get insight into the life of Lord Buddha and the development of Buddhism. Around 62 archaeological sites here preserve the significance to the life, enlightenment and death of Buddha.

Pokhara, is a paradise for tourists. Pokhara has natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, temples of Buddhist and Hindus. It also provides the view of many different mountains. You can also see the views to the north across the hills and Phewa Tal (lake) to the white peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri  ranges.

Day by Day Overview

Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport where you will be welcomed outside the arrival terminal gate by our representative then transferred to your hotel.

After breakfast in the morning, our driver will pick you up from your hotel for the Kathmandu Valley day tour as below.

  • SWYAMBHUNATH STUPA
    Also known as the ‘Monkey Temple’ Syambhunath Stupa is believed to be the first place of pilgrimage in the Kathmandu Valley. Syambhunath complex consists of several other temples dating back to the 7th century, although the Tibetan Monastery has been recently built. It takes a 40-50 minute walk from Thamel. The area is a landmark because it offers the best view of Kathmandu Valley. Entry Fee: Rs 200 per person.
  • PASHUPATINATH TEMPLE
    Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Pashupatinath is the holiest Hindu site in Nepal and the country’s largest shrine complex. The temple stands for the symbol of faith and culture holding its ground beside the holy river – Bagmati. Every year thousands of Hindu followers from all over the country as well as from India pay a visit to this temple as it holds a huge proportion of religious significance among Hindu society. Entry Fee: Rs 1000 per person.
  • BOUDDHANATH STUPA
    Bouddhanath Stupa is a massive, whitewashed stupa which rises 36 m above the street. It is among the largest stupa in the world and the biggest in Nepal. It is the heart of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. Posters of smiling Dalai Lama, traditional art workshops and local restaurants are in abundance throughout the narrow streets of Bouddha. It remains an important place of pilgrimage and meditation for Tibetan Buddhists as well as for local Nepalese. Entry Fee: Rs 400 per person.
  • PATAN DURBAR SQUARE:
    Located about 5 km south of Kathmandu, Patan Durbar Square is well known for its fine Pagoda style temples, stone statues, and unique architectures. Likewise, the palace complex is home to various Hindu temples and Buddhist monuments with bronze gateways and exquisite carvings dating back to many centuries. The major attraction of Patan Durbar Square includes Keshav Narayan Chowk, Sundari Chowk, Mul Chowk, Patan Museum, Krishna Temple, Golden Temple, Mahabouddha Temple, and Golden Window. Entry Fee: Rs 1000 per person.

After an early breakfast, drive to Chitwan National Park at around 6:30 am from Kathmandu. This national park is 932 sq km and is said to be one of the best in south Asia – famous for its population of the one-horned Asian rhinoceros, several species of deer, monkeys, sloth bear, wild boar, spotted leopard, Bengal tiger as well as other lesser mammals, birds and reptiles.

A full day of jungle activities such as nature walks, canoe ride, jungle walks, tribal village visit etc. In the evening a slide presentation on Nepalese wildlife or a Tharu tribal dance programme.

Overnight: Chitwan Hotel

Morning drive to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha (192 km / 5-6 hrs). Later, visit the scared Lumbini garden, Mayadevi temple, Pushkarni pond, Ramagram and other places of interest.

Overnight: Lumbini Hotel

In the morning drive to Pokhara valley (199 km / 6-7 hrs), famed for its emerald lakes and awesome snow peaks looming overhead. Transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free.

Overnight: Pokhara Hotel

Early morning tour of Sarangkot hill for sunrise and mountain views. At an elevation of 1590m, Sarangkote is perched on a high ridge to the northwest of Pokhara and has panoramic mountain views from Dhaulagiri and across the Annapurnas to Manaslu as well as south over the Pokhara Valley. Visit Davi’s Fall, Gupteshore Cave, Tibetan Refugee Camp, Seti Gorge and Bindebasini Temple.

Overnight: Pokhara Hotel

After breakfast commence your return journey back to Kathmandu. Alternatively you can fly back for a supplementary charge. Transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
