This family safari combines some of Kenya’s most scenic landscapes and national parks as well as the best hotels/lodges. Stay at The Ark in Aberdare National Park where you can watch wildlife from your balcony as it comes to drink from the floodlit waterhole. From here, soak up the beautiful landscape of the Great Rift Valley with Lake Nakuru National Park at its heart, home to thousands of flamingos and many mammals including rhino and leopard, before continuing to the fantastic Masai Mara National Reserve. Here you have the chance to do unlimited game drives for three days.

Day by Day Overview

You’ll be met on arrival at Nairobi airport or at City Hotel for the drive to Mount Kenya National Park. The journey passes through beautiful landscapes in the central part of Kenya full of coffee plantations. Arrive in time for lunch at Serena Mountain Lodge, which is located along the Equator and gives spectacular views of the famous Mt. Kenya with snow on its peaks. After lunch you can have a chance to go game viewing from the lodge or arrange a nature walk.

Dinner and overnight at Serena Mountain Lodge

After breakfast, depart the lodge at around 0800 hrs for the drive to Aberdare National Park, arriving in time for lunch at Aberdare Country Club, the base hotel for The Ark Hotel. After lunch board The Ark’s bus for the drive to The Ark Hotel. The hotel is set in a wildlife rich area with a well lit waterhole during the night which gives guests a chance to view animals such as elephants, buffalo, rhino, gazelles among others that come to drink water from their room balconies.

After breakfast drive back to Aberdare Country Club where you meet your driver guide. Set off on the journey to Lake Nakuru, passing through some of the most beautiful landscapes of the Great Rift Valley including Thompson Falls, arriving in time for lunch. Lake Nakuru National Park is home to thousands of flamingos as well as rhino, leopard and much more, which you’ll have a chance to see during your afternoon game drive.

Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge

After breakfast depart on the drive to Masai Mara National Reserve with a short game drive en route out of the park. During the drive you will pass by Mt. Longonot and Suswa hills through Narok town, the home of Masai people, arriving in time for lunch at Mara Sopa Lodge. Afternoon game drives in search of game returning back to the lodge before dark.

Spend the whole day on game drives in search of wildlife and birds, with all meals at the lodge. With prior arrangement, you can have breakfast early in the morning and depart with a picnic lunch for your game drives returning back to the lodge early in the evening.

After breakfast depart for the drive back to Nairobi, arriving early in the afternoon. Drop off at the airport for your flight back home or you can extend your safari with a beach holiday in Mombasa.
