Day by Day Overview

Pick up from the airport (or hotel) by your professional guide and depart Nairobi for the Maasai Mara National Reserve with lunch en route. We drive through the dramatic Great Rift Valley with a brief stop at the viewpoint where you will have a chance to take photos. Proceed to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, an enormous reserve which is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest migration and home to the big five. On arrival proceed for an evening game drive, tracking various animal species and birds with your driver/guide. Dinner and overnight at Miti Mingi Eco Camp.

After breakfast, you will depart with picnic lunch boxes for a full day game viewing in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. A Masai Mara safari is an unmissable highlight of any holiday in Kenya’s holiday. There are breathtaking panoramas in every direction, a vast range of wildlife including the big five, and a rich cultural heritage to explore. Kenya’s Masai Mara is, without a doubt, one of the greatest safari destinations in Africa. Between July and October, things get busy with the Great Migration when millions of zebra and wildebeest make the perilous crossing of the Masai Mara in search of new grazing territory. And in their wake comes a veritable horde of predators including lion and leopard. Our guide will make sure that you get the best photographic opportunities as well as enriching you with the amazing cultural practices of the local communities of Maasai people. Dinner and overnight at Miti Mingi Eco Camp.

Early morning pre-breakfast game drive. Then after breakfast, depart the Mara region for Nakuru. Have lunch en route, with scenic views of Mt. Longmont, Lake Naivasha and Lake Elementaita from afar on the main highway. You will arrive in Nakuru town in the evening. Dinner and overnight at a budget hotel.

After breakfast, you will proceed on a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, known for its prolific bird-life including flamingos. The park contains a sanctuary for the conservation of the white rhino while species like Cape buffalo and waterbuck can be seen near the shoreline. Enjoy a hot lunch and then drive to Naivasha. On arrival you have an option to go on a boat ride or visit Crescent Island (extra cost). Dinner and overnight at a budget hotel.

After breakfast, enjoy a nature walk in Hell’s Gate National Park, you can also hire bicycles to cycle. There are over 100 species of birds in the park including vultures, Verreaux’s eagles, augur buzzard and swifts. Buffalo, zebra, eland, hartebeest, Thomson’s gazelle and baboons are also common as well as klipspringer and Chandlers mountain reedbuck. The park has landscape features including Olkaria and Hobley’s, two extinct volcanoes and the obsidian forms from the cool molten lava. Within Hell’s Gate is the Hell’s Gate Gorge, lined with red cliffs that contain two volcanic plugs. Afterwards drive to Nairobi with a picnic lunch en route arriving in Nairobi late afternoon. Drop off at the airport for your flight.
