Day by Day Overview
You will be collected at Cape Town International Airport and transferred to your hotel. Once you arrive you have the opportunity to relax after your flight. In the evening you can choose to have dinner at the hotel restaurant, which is for your own account, or in one of the many restaurants at the V&A Waterfront close by.
After an early breakfast your guide will collect you at your hotel for a full day tour to:-
- Chapman’s Peak
- Hout Bay Seal Island boat trip
- Boulders Beach penguin colony
- Lunch at the best fish & chips restaurant
- Visit Cape Point and Cape Point Funicular
You return to the hotel for dinner in the restaurant, which is for your own account, or you can opt to have dinner at the V&A Waterfront at one of the many restaurants.
After an early breakfast your guide will collect you at your hotel for a full day tour to:-
- Table Mountain by cable car
- Noon Gun
- Bo-Kaap
- Kirstenbosch Gardens
- Castle of Good Hope
Afterwards return to the hotel and choose to have dinner in the restaurant there or at the V&A Waterfront.
On this day pack up, have an early breakfast and your guide will collect you for a full day tour along the wine route, stopping to visit the Fairview Wine Farm with a cellar tour & wine tasting. Then enjoy a cheese tasting tour on the same estate before a short drive and a chocolate tasting tour. Continue to Barrydale for the night.
After an early breakfast your guide will collect you for a full day tour. Drive through the mountains to arrive in Oudtshoorn and the visit the famous Ostrich Farm and the Cango Caves. Check in to a hotel for the night, which is 1km from Oudtshoorn town centre and within walking distance of well-known restaurants Jemima’s, Bello Cibo, La Dolce Vita where you can have dinner.
Your guide will collect you for a full day tour and you make your way to Knysna via George and Wilderness. On arrival in Knysna head to the harbor and waterfront where there’s an option for lunch at one of the many restaurants. After lunch board the famous heads ferry for a sundowner cruise, hopefully spotting some dolphins along the way. Return to the hotel for the evening.
This full day tour takes you along the Garden Route to the historical town of Mossel Bay and visit the Bartholomeus Dias Museum. You will see a replica of Dias’ Ship as well as the first early post office system as well as visiting the lighthouse and caves at the point. Lunch can be enjoyed en route to Hermanus at one of the many small town we pass through. Hermanus is one of the highlights of the tour, situated on the whale coast.
Aug to Dec: You make your way to the harbour to board the vessel for a whale watching expedition.
After packing up and enjoying an early breakfast, you head back to Cape Town for a flight to Johannesburg. On arrival go to Lesedi African Cultural Village. On arrival at Lesedi in the late afternoon, guests are welcomed in the traditional African way and escorted to their ‘village’. Once settled in comfortable, traditionally styled rooms, guests will then have the opportunity to discover the many colourful and fascinating aspects of the cultures of the people of Lesedi. You are then treated to a Pan African Buffet in the Nyama Choma Restaurant – “The Greatest African Feast”.
In the morning, after awakening to the sounds of traditional maskande guitar or squash-box, a full English breakfast is served in the restaurant. Your cultural guide will collect you to embark on a full day tour of the City of Pretoria including a visit to the Voortrekker Monument. A light lunch can be enjoyed at the monument cafeteria on your own account. After lunch visit the Union Buildings to view the largest statue in Africa of President Mandela. Late afternoon check in to the hotel.
After breakfast you make our way to the South Western Townships (Soweto) for a historical and cultural tour. En route the guide will enlighten the group on the history of Johannesburg and the gold mining era. A traditional lunch can be enjoyed in Soweto on your own account. Return to the hotel late afternoon.
This morning you will be collected for your full day tour of the Panoramic Route on your way to a private game lodge. En route we will travel through Long Tom Pass, stop at Blyde River Canyon (third largest canyon in the world), see the Three Rondavels, visit Bourke’s Luck, Wonder View, Pinnacle Rock, Lisbon Falls, Bridal Falls and Mac-Mac Falls. You arrive at the game lodge at approx 17h00 and check in for the night with an amazing dinner.
After breakfast, you will be driven to the Orpen Gate of the Kruger National Park where you transfer into a specially designed open safari vehicle. Game viewing begins as soon as you enter the gates, looking for giraffe, zebra and various antelope species as well as predators, on the way to the camp. Arriving at about 2pm there’s time for a rest and relax after the drive. On this first night in Kruger you’re welcomed with a bush braai (BBQ).
Rise before the sun and embark on a morning game drive in the Kruger National Park in search of the ‘Big 5’, ordinally named this as they were known to be the five most dangerous animals to hunt, but we get to view them up close from the safety of an open safari vehicle along with a rich variety of other wildlife. Stop for breakfast at about 9am then head to the next camp for the night. After checking in and relaxing, depart on a afternoon game drive for another brilliant wildlife experience accompanied by your guide. Dinner is served back at camp. A bush walk or night drive can be arranged during these days (optional extras).
This morning you head out on a final early morning game drive before breakfast back at camp. Then leave the Kruger National Park and transfer back to Johannesburg or Nelspruit International Airport.
