Unforgettable seven days of climbing Kilimanjaro Mountain via Machame route. This route, popular with many hikers and known as the 'whisky route', is reasonably simple with a high success of summiting. This route boasts impressive scenery and attractive landscape along with amazing views and heavy clouds. It starts on the southern part of mountain and turns east underneath Kilimanjaro’s southern ice field. The Mweka route is the descending route from the summit. This trip is available in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Moshi town. Later you will meet with our professional and experienced mountain guide who will give you a full briefing on the adventure and go through all the necessary gear. Any missing gear can be rented.
After an early breakfast, our guide will transfer you from your hotel in Moshi to Machame Gate for registration and to receive your hiking permit. Afterwards you will start climbing from Machame Gate to Machame Camp via the lush lower slopes of Kilimanjaro Mountain, taking in the diverse flora and fauna of the rainforest. Light permitting, you might have the chance to have a closer look at the glaciated dome of Kibo.

After an early breakfast you will continue climbing to a small semicircular cliff picnic site and then continue ascending to the lower alpine moorland with it’s beautiful wild alpine flowers. After reaching Shira Camp your mountain guide and crew will establish a camping site, where you will have lunch, dinner and stay over night. Shira point provides an amazing view of Kibo peak.

After an early breakfast your guide will walk with you on a gentle ascent with panoramic views. During this safari you will pass underneath Lava Tower to the western breach where you will have lunch. Later you continue to descend to the Great Barranco Valley Camp where you will have dinner and stay over night.

After an early breakfast you will ascend to Heim Glacier where you will be able to see Mount Kilimanjaro. You will continue to hike to the Great Barranco Wall and descend to alpine desert with stunning views of Karanga Valley and finally continue to climb to Karanga Camp where you will enjoy dinner and stay over night.

After an early breakfast you will continue hiking, leaving Karanga Camp via scree, with wide views and attractive landscapes to Barafu Camp. Barafu point provides views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. At Barafu Camp you will have dinner and stay over night in preparation of summiting.

After waking up at about midnight for a debrief from your guide on how to summit, you will begin your climb over volcanic scree, stopping at Stella to take in the sunrise. Afterwards you will continue your climb to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro where you will experience changes of weather conditions. You will be able to see the amazing landscape as well as different parts of the African continent. You will have a few minutes to take photos before you start your descent to Barafu Camp where you will have lunch. Later you will continue to descend to Mweka Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Distance: 4.3 km ascent to Stella point
Distance: 5 km Barafu to Uhuru peak ascent
Hiking time: 6-7 hours ascent / 7-8 hours descent

Accommodation: Mweka Camp
After an early breakfast you will continue your descent from Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate where you will receive your summit certificate. Afterwards your guide will take you to your hotel in Moshi town where you can enjoy a meal and freshen up. You will then be taken to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your trip home.
