Day by Day Overview

At 8 am the driver guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and you start the journey to Tarangire National Park. The journey is 120 km which will take around 2 hrs. At Tarangire National Park gate the game drive starts and you will explore the true enormity of the deserted termite mounds and ancient baobab trees. Moreover it’s known as the elephant paradise and you will expect to see big herds of elephants and other wild animals such as lions, giraffes, warthogs, ostriches, impalas, cheetahs, mongoose, buffaloes and baboons as well as wonderful birds. After the fantastic game drive you will be driven to Mto Wa Mbu near Lake Manyara for the overnight.

Today you will start the journey to Serengeti National Park from Mto Wa Mbu, which will take around 3.5 hrs over a distance of 205 km. You will pass by the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you can have an en route game drive while heading to the Serengeti National Park, known for its annual wildlife migration. On reaching the park you will enjoy lunch on one of the kopjes (rock outcrops). The game drive will venture further into the park and overnight will be in the Serengeti National Park.

The day will begin with an early morning game drive in the central part of the Serengeti. The savannah is an active landscape and the air is flooded with melodies the birds create as the sunlight starts to illuminate the landscape. Your guide will study the prints on the ground to pursue predators. Early in the morning you might be able to have a good view of the hot air balloons above. We then travel to the Ngorongoro Crater rim for an overnight stay.

We head off and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a World Heritage Site, where the game viewing is simply effortless. Most animals remain within the crater due to its high walls. This is the perfect location with a high probability to see every member of the ‘Big 5’ in one day. We will have a wonderful picnic lunch inside the crater. The unfilled caldera is also home to hyenas, hippo, zebra, wildebeest and an impressive variety of water birds. Your guide will enlighten you by sharing facts about the animals, vegetation and locating hidden animals. After such a wonderful journey you will head to Mto Wa Mbu near Lake Manyara for the night.

On this final day of your safari you will be nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Lake Manyara National Park provides picturesque scenery and assorted habitats including rainforests, soda Lake and savannah, which support the highly diverse ecosystem. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the beautiful park. With over 400 bird species, some of which are migratory, the reserve is a birdwatcher’s delight. Lake Manyara houses the legendary tree climbing lions as well as buffalo, elephants, giraffe, impalas and hippos. We will proceed to Arusha in the late afternoon for overnight.
