Day by Day Overview
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro (JRO) or Arusha Airport, your Kin Grand representative will transfer you to Njiro Legacy.
The Insight: Opt for a curated city tour of Arusha’s cultural highlights, including the Heritage Art Gallery and local spice markets.
Stay: Njiro Legacy
Morning: The Baobab Kingdom – Depart at 07:45 am for Tarangire National Park, a prehistoric landscape dominated by ancient baobab trees. This park holds the highest elephant density in Northern Tanzania; you will observe massive family herds interacting in their natural habitat.
Afternoon: Predator-Prey Dynamics – We track the Tarangire River, the region’s primary aquatic lifeline. During the dry season, thousands of zebras, wildebeests, and giraffes congregate here, drawing out apex predators like lions and leopards. Our guides will also search the riverine trees for Manyara’s famous tree-climbing pythons.
Evening: Escarpment Luxury – Ascend the Rift Valley to Mawe Mawe Manyara Lodge. Perched on a 600-meter cliff, the lodge offers a stunning infinity pool and panoramic views of the valley floor, the perfect setting for a sunset sundowner.
After breakfast, we will drive to Serengeti for about 6 hours (including all stops), passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We will briefly stop at the gate and view the breathtaking crater for about 20 minutes. There is an optional visit to a Masai Village to learn about the daily life of the Masai people (an additional US$10 to US$20).
Arrive late afternoon in the Serengeti National Park and do a game drive in Seronera (center of Serengeti). Continue on a game drive to late evening and experience the sunset in Serengeti while having a close view of the wild animals. We might be lucky and see a predator hunt! Finally, embark on an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti. Dinner and overnight will be at your luxury tented lodge.
Stay: Kumbukumbu Luxury Tented Camp (Central Serengeti)
The Drive: After a sunrise launch in Central Serengeti, we move toward the remote Mara River sector. You will witness a dramatic shift in topography from open savannah to rugged, riverine woodlands.
The Mission: Tracking the movement of 1.5 million wildebeest. We conclude the day with an initial scout of the riverbanks to identify high-probability crossing points.
Stay: Moyo Migration Camp (Strategically placed for river access)
The Phenomenon: A dedicated day at the Mara River witnessing the “Thermic Drama.” Observe the herd’s survival instinct as they navigate crocodile-infested waters in a desperate push for greener pastures. The Ecology: Your guide will explain the predator-prey dynamics at the water’s edge, a rare biological spectacle involving massive Nile crocodiles and ambush-hunting lions.
Stay: Moyo Migration Camp
The Morning: A final sunrise patrol along the Mara River before we navigate south toward the Ndutu Region. The Habitat: This area, located within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, is famous for its nutrient-rich acacia woodlands. It is a premier territory for resident big cats and excellent for tracking elusive leopards.
Stay: Masek Tented Lodge (Luxury rim-side/woodland camp)
The Descent: A pre-dawn 06:00 am descent into the world’s largest intact Volcanic Caldera. This enclosed biosphere acts as a natural sanctuary for 30,000 animals.
The Highlight: Spend 5-6 hours in the “Garden of Eden” seeking the critically endangered Black Rhino.
Departure: Ascend the crater and begin the return transit to Arusha for your evening flight departure.
