Day by Day Overview

Depart from Nairobi and drive through rich kikuyu farm land to the edge of the Rift Valley. Descend the escarpment and drive via Narok to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, with a picnic lunch en route. The Maasai Mara adjoins Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, separated by the Mara River. The Maasai Mara is famous for its black manned lion and yearly migrations of the wildebeest from the Mara to the Serengeti and back. Plenty of other wildlife is also found here including zebras, elephants, buffalos, rhinos, gazelles, leopards and giraffes. Game viewing is done en route to the campsite. Time permitting there may be a further game drive in the afternoon before dinner and overnight at the camp.

A full day is spent game viewing and exploring this spectacular national park. The Big Five can be seen here as well as a host of other game and remarkable birdlife. Meals and overnight at the camp.

Have a pre-breakfast game drive followed by a late breakfast. Then leave camp and proceed to Lake Nakuru arriving in time for dinner and overnight at the camp (there’s no game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park today).

After breakfast spend the morning in Lake Nakuru National Park, a beautiful park on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Enjoy bird watching – there are hundreds of different bird species in the park – as well as a wide range of wild animals.

Additionally, there is an area around the lake fenced off as a sanctuary to protect giraffes and both black and white rhinos. After lunch leave for Nairobi, stopping for panoramic views of the Great Rift Valley en-route, arriving in Nairobi in the afternoon.
