Day by Day Overview
After breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel and then proceed to the departure point where you join other guests who will be doing the same 4 days Kenya budget Tented Camping Safari. Depart to Masai Mara Game Reserve, which is located 268 km west of Nairobi, with a stop over at the Great Rift Valley view point. Here we normally take 30 minutes hearing about how the rift valley was formed, then continue to Narok town, famous for the Masai people, where we have lunch. Drive on to the Masai Mara, check in to the camp and then leave for the late afternoon game drive. This takes us up until 1830 hrs when we return to the camp for dinner and overnight.
The whole day explore the Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya’s finest wildlife sanctuary with a huge concentration of wildlife. The Mara’s gentle fertile climate bounded by the Rift, offers perhaps the richest stocked reserve set within some 1672 sq km and boasts an unlimited spectacle of wildlife. Today you will explore the Masai Mara and have lunch at the Mara River. This is the point where the annual great migration of wildebeest takes place as a million wildebeest follow the rains north. You will also be able to spot hippos and crocs and bask on the banks. After exploring the park return to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Wake up call at 0600 hrs when you will only have a cup of hot coffee and then proceed for the early morning game drive. The early morning game viewing is very important as you might be lucky enough to see a morning kill; lions are fond of making a kill either early in the morning or late in the evening before dark. After a 3-hour game drive, return for breakfast then check out. There’s an option to visit a Masai Village, our driver can organize this for you. Proceed to Lake Nakuru with a stop over in Narok town for lunch. If time allows on arrival you will go for a game drive otherwise check in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight in the Budget Hotel.
After breakfast proceed for a game drive to Lake Nakuru, renowned for its masses of flamingos and often referred to as the ‘Pink Lake/. Beside birds, it is possible to see wildlife such as waterbuck, impala, rhino and buffalo. After lunch depart to Nairobi, arriving around 4-5pm in the evening.
