Day by Day Overview

You will be picked up from your accommodation in Windhoek at 07:00 and transferred for a pre-departure meeting. The journey then heads north with a brief stop in Otjiwarongo for supplies before continuing to Etosha National Park. A light lunch will be enjoyed en route. Upon entering Etosha, there will be a game drive to Halali Camp, where you will stay overnight. Etosha National Park, covering over 22,000 square km, is home to a diverse range of wildlife, offering excellent game viewing opportunities, especially at various waterholes. The camp has a floodlit waterhole for nighttime game viewing, known for attracting elephants and black rhinos. Dinner will be at the camp restaurant, and you are encouraged to visit the waterhole for extra game-viewing chances in the evening.

  • Accommodation: Twin share, en-suite bathroom
  • Meals: Lunch, Dinner

We have a full day to explore Etosha National Park, starting at sunrise when the gates open. Early morning is ideal for spotting wildlife, particularly big cats returning from their hunt. After an early morning game drive, we return to camp for breakfast and then set out again to explore the park further. The park’s desert landscape means water is scarce, but numerous natural and man-made waterholes attract thirsty animals, providing excellent game viewing opportunities. We will also visit the Etosha Pan, a vast, 4,700 square km white mineral pan visible from space. We exit the park at the Anderson Gate near sunset and head to our nearby accommodation, featuring spacious twin rooms with modern en-suite bathrooms. The day concludes with a fantastic buffet dinner.

  • Accommodation: Twin share, en-suite bathroom

After breakfast, we depart at 07:30, taking the scenic route toward the Skeleton Coast. We travel south, passing the town of Outjo, before heading west into Damaraland. Known for its stunning landscapes, Damaraland features mountains, grasslands, pink granite boulders, and wide-open spaces. Along the way, we may interact with locals from the Himba, Herero, and Damara tribes, often dressed in traditional attire, and have the opportunity to purchase handcrafted souvenirs.

We stop for a picnic lunch under Namibia’s highest mountain, Brandberg, a 2,573-meter monolith of pink granite. Continuing west, we reach the Skeleton Coast, where the Atlantic Ocean meets barren beaches. This coastline, notorious for shipwrecks due to fog, wind, and waves, is marked by stories of mariners facing harsh conditions.

We visit a recent shipwreck, The Zeila, a fishing trawler beached near Henties Bay in 2008, which provides a unique photo opportunity. Our journey continues to Swakopmund, a coastal town with rich German colonial history, sand dunes, and the Atlantic Ocean. You will be dropped off at your accommodation in Swakopmund, where excellent restaurants await, and your guide can assist with recommendations and bookings.
