Day by Day Overview

Early in the morning, the guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the famous Tarangire National Park. Consisting of seasonal marshes, bush savannah and baobab trees, this national park is one of the best places in East Africa to see elephants up-close. There are over 4,000 animals which live here including Masai giraffes, antelopes, buffalos, leopards, lions, baboons and many bird species. In the afternoon, you will arrive at Kirurumu Tented Lodge.

Have breakfast and afterward continue to the lush crater uplands, the fertile soils here are ideal for crops like corn, wheat, coffee to grow. Later on, you will view the plains of the Serengeti National Park, have lunch and proceed to Olduvai Gorge (optional visit). The area here is so dry and it’s well known for the archaeological couple, the Leakeys, who discovered the oldest prehistoric human remains. There’s a small museum documenting their work. The name Serengeti comes from the Masai word which means ‘endless plains’. This can be seen as the grassland savannah in the southern direction. Enjoy an evening meal and overnight at Serengeti Heritage Tented Lodge.

This whole day is dedicated to wildlife viewing within the Serengeti. The areas here to be visited will depend where the herds are mostly found. The wildebeests and zebras in the short rainy season of October and November are found moving from the hills of the north to the main plains of the south while during the longer rainy seasons of April, May as well as June, they return north. The guide will know the exact location of the herds and where the best sightings might be.

Have your breakfast then proceed for a game drive in Serengeti National Park, within Seronera valley, where you will find many zebras and wildebeests as well as big cats including lions, leopards and cheetahs. Have lunch and afterwards drive to the Ngorongoro Crater. On reaching the crater, the caldera opens up in front of you and is a beautiful sight to behold. Enjoy the fantastic views of the sun as it goes down. Overnight at Rhino Lodge.

After breakfast drive into the crater which has one of the biggest calderas filled with rich and diverse wildlife species. In the acacia forest and grass steppes you will find every type of animal living in the east African savannah, inlcuding the big five. After having a picnic lunch and more wildlife viewing, you will travel to Lake Manyara National Park for an overnight at Kirurumu Tented Lodge.

This is the last national park you will visit in Tanzania’s northern circuit, well known for its tree climbing lions. The large part of the park covers the alkaline Manyara lake which is seasonally visited by flamingos and many other water birds. Along the shores of the lake, you will spot many animals including the elephants, hippos, giraffes, buffalos, antelopes, banded mongoose and gazelles. After game watching, you will be driven to the airport for you flight to Zanzibar. Overnight in Tembo Hotel in Stone Town.

Today you will leave you hotel in Stone Town to your beach hotel. On the way, you will do a Spice Tour on this beautiful island, which is also known as the ‘Spice Island’.

After breakfast, you will be taken by our driver to Kizimkazi village where you will go swimming with dolphins, a wonderful experience. On the way back to the hotel, pass by the Jozani Forest to see the red colobus monkeys of Zanzibar Island.

The Safari Blue Tour is Zanzibar number one full day trip – a sea adventure safari which starts from Fumba fishing village on the south west coast of the island. The major attraction is to swim, snorkel, enjoy seafood and sail on a traditional dhow. The history of traditional dhows dates back to the 15th and 16th centuries, the age of the moonson winds and the Arab movements.
