Day by Day Overview
After a leisurely breakfast, your driver-guide reports to your hotel or at the airport for the start of the safari, with a 7.30am departure for a picturesque drive descending the Great Rift Valley and onwards to Maasai Mara, Kenya’s famous game reserve. Stop briefly en route at the Great Rift Valley view point to enjoy the stunning views of an enormous valley system said to be visible from the outer space. Arrive in Maasai Mara in time for lunch. After lunch we will have an afternoon game drive which will allow spotting of the magnificent wildlife in the park. The reserve is known for providing excellent predator sightings thanks to its relatively large population of lions, cheetahs and leopards. Bordering Tanzania, the Mara is in the northern extension of Serengeti and forms a wildlife corridor between the two countries. You will then go back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
- Accommodation: Jambo Mara Safari Lodge

You will go in search of the Big Five with game drives across the grassy plains of the Masai Mara National Reserve. You will have an opportunity to drive down to the Mara River, site of the Great Migration when in season – July through October. The immense herds of wildebeest and zebra are a magnificent sight, matched only by the drama of the predators who lie in wait for them. To bring more texture to your experience, you may want to take advantage of several optional events we offer at an extra cost. Experience a visit to the local Maasai people in their nearby village and a pre-dawn hot air balloon ride high above the reserve as the morning light breaks across the golden savannah. Your driver/guide can arrange either of these optional excursions. After a day full of these amazing experiences, you’ll go back to the lodge for dinner and a well deserved rest.

We will embark on a comprehensive game drive of this scenic park including visits to viewpoints which offer superb photo opportunities. Lake Nakuru is one of several Rift Valley lakes and its ecosystem supports a wide ecological diversity with Flamingos (Greater and Lesser) and other water birds being the major attractions of the area. The ecosystem provides for about 56 different species of mammals including the white rhino and buffaloes and a variety of terrestrial birds numbering nearly 450 species. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Later, we can visit Crescent Island. This is a private Island on Lake Naivasha that rose to fame after the 1985 movie “Out of Africa” that showcased the beautiful nature of Lake Naivasha and its surrounding. It is home to a number of bird species that roam around between the lake and the Island. The Island is also home to a number of wildlife that includes zebras, giraffes, and waterbucks.
