Day by Day Overview
Arrive at Nairobi airport. On arrival you will meet by our representative and driver/guide who will assist you to your hotel where you will overnight at Nairobi Safari Club.
Overnight: Nairobi Safari Club
After breakfast you start the drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve. The world-famous Masai Mara is backdrop to ‘the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth’, the annual migration of over one million wildebeest. Enjoy game viewing en route to your camp followed by lunch and check in at your camp. Spend the afternoon on safari in Kenya’s most popular reserve. Arrive back in camp in time for campfire and dinner.
Overnight: Ashnil Mara Camp
Your day will be spent on safari in one of Africa’s richest wildlife viewing arenas. Teeming with wildlife, the Mara hosts Kenya’s largest lion prides and elephant herds. Other predators include leopard, cheetah and spotted hyena, while in the Mara River you will see pods of hippo and vast Nile crocodiles. Other highlights include giraffes, gazelle, zebra, buffalo and over 550 species of birds. Alternatively visit a Masai village and learn the Masai culture (additional cost).
Overnight: Ashnil Mara Camp
After breakfast this morning you will be transferred to Isebania immigration and customs office to clear immigration into Tanzania. Join your Tanzania guide and drive to Serengeti National Park. Enjoy a game drive en route to Serengeti Serena Hotel for dinner and overnight.
Spend three days discovering the Serengeti National Park, doing game drives in the Northern, Central and Southern areas. Your driver guide will show you the wonders of this incredible national park and the adventures found in it. After breakfast, enjoy game driving in the vast and sensational park, which covers 14,763 sq km of endlessly rolling savannah. Venue for ‘the greatest wildlife show on Earth’, the annual migration of over one million wildebeest, the park is also renowned for its lions, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes and plains game. During your time here, enjoy some meals taken in true safari style ‘in the bush’.
Overnight: Acacia Luxury Camp
An early morning game drive in the Serengeti then after breakfast proceed to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Go for an afternoon nature walk (depending on weather conditions). Escorted by a ranger or a Maasai guide, follow animal paths through dense bush. North east of the Ngorongoro Crater lies the Empakaai Crater, 6000m wide and 300m high. Among other animals, you will see buffalo, bushbuck, a variety of antelope and blue monkeys as well as abundant birds. A deep soda lake covers a large part of the crater floor, there is a track to the crater-floor and one around the rim of the crater. On a nice, clear day, you can see Mt. Oldonyo Lengai, Lake Natron and Mt. Kilimanjaro. The scenic views are outstanding. You will walk around the crater to take some picture of the beautiful crater with stunning views.
Thereafter you ascend to the top where you will meet your driver and drive back to the hotel.
Overnight: Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge
After breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, known as the ‘8th Wonder of the World’, a unique biosphere that has remained virtually unchanged since the dawn of time. Enclosed within its towering walls are grasslands, swamps, forests, saltpans, a fresh water lake and a glorious variety of birdlife. Here too are all the members of the Big Five as well as a large cast of plains game and one of Africa’s densest populations of predators. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor before ascending back up and proceeding to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire evening game drive en route heading to Sopa Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Overnight: Tarangire Sopa Lodge
After an early breakfast you will proceed with a game drive in Tarangire National Park, Tanzania’s third largest national park and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lion, leopard and cheetah and up to six thousand elephant. You will have full day’s game drive with picnic lunch inside the Park.
Overnight: Tarangire Sopa Lodge
After breakfast you will drive out and proceed to Arusha where you will have lunch and After lunch drive to the airport for flight to Zanzibar or International flight back home.
