Discover a pristine Mexican archipelago, with its unique ecosystem, remarkable marine life and world class diving, on the liveaboard Solmar V. Marine life includes giant Pacific mantas, over ten types of shark such as tiger, silkies, silvertips, whitetips and huge schools of hammerhead sharks, as well as seasonal migratory species like pilot, humpback and false killer whales, sailfish and marlin. The Solvar V is a 115 ft pioneer boat with a large dive deck and camera table, air conditioned en-suite staterooms, great food, complimentary bar, rental gear available (Scuba Pro), Nitrox certification and rental on board.

  • Revillagigedo is a group of four volcanic islands located in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of the southern tip of Baja California – it is the largest marine park in the American Continent
  • Completely isolated, these uninhabited islands in the world’s largest ocean offer a unique experience, above and below the water
  • This is a paradise for many large pelagic species; sharks, including hammerheads, silky, silver tip and white tips, humpback whales, dolphins and large manta rays, which the area is well known for
  • Socorro diving area is not a coral reef, so do not expect bright colours everywhere, but once you spot the spectacular marine wildlife this will be your focus
  • Strong currents and big waves, most dive spots are quite deep
  • Experienced dive guides, who are very familiar with the area, know where and when to see the best of the marine life

  • Although the staterooms are comfortable, there is limited storage space so pack light. We suggest packing a soft duffle bag for easy luggage storing
  • After you have cleared the airport customs area with your luggage, either walk straight to the Authorized Taxi Booth (where you can book either a private taxi or the Authorized Airport Shuttle) or meet your pre-arranged transportation
  • After checkout and disembarkation, the crew will arrange taxis or you can use your prearranged and prepaid transfer
  • Even though a day room is not available you are welcome to use facilities at the Solmar Resort if you depart later in the day
  • If you need any rental gear we will gladly pre-arrange it for you
  • The ocean temps at Socorro usually range from 78F-82F in November, 70F-74F in Feb/March, 76F–80F April to June. We recommend 5mm wetsuit, though some guests also pack a light vest and hood or a vest with an attached hood in case of thermoclines during the cooler months

Day by Day Overview

  • Safety briefing, crew introduction, necessary dive paperwork, cabin allocation and ship orientation will take place before departing Cabo San Lucas harbour at 16:00
  • During the journey to our first dive site for a check dive, please take this opportunity to familiarize yourselves with the vessel and make yourself comfortable
  • Arrival at San Benedicto about 1-2 pm – crossing takes 22-24 hours
  • Rest of the afternoon is spent diving
  • Day is normally spent diving around San Benedicto and considering weather possibilities for a crossing to Roca Partida
  • After sunset boat departs to Socorro Island – crossing takes 4-5 hours
  • On occasion if weather looks good we might decide to try Roca before Socorro
  • Early arrival at Socorro Island for quick check-in at Navy Base for clearance
  • Most of this day is spent diving around Socorro Island
  • If conditions are good here or it is humpback whale season we might stay another day but usually we depart back to either San Benedicto or Roca Partida after sunset
  • Early arrival to San Benedicto or Roca Partida
  • Diving all day
  • Next days are spent diving numerous sites around San Benedicto and/or Roca Partida depending on weather and if we have been able to get to Roca Partida previously
  • Arrival to Cabo after a 22+ hour crossing, depending on weather conditions, which means the boat usually arrives after sunset on this day
  • Our dock has a great location near town for those who want to get off and stretch their legs or visit the local restaurants and night spots
  • Disembark at around 09:00. Hotel drop-off is available
  • The trip has come to an end and we have to say goodbye – see you soon!
