Nothing compares to the exhilaration of standing a few meters away from a herd of buffalo or venturing deep into the Tanzanian bush. A walking safari gives you the freedom to explore the wilderness like you've never done before, from the lush green forests to the dry bush lands, get off the beaten track and closer to nature. Accompanied by an experienced professional guide and armed ranger to ensure your utmost safety, you will get to explore remote areas inaccessible by vehicles.

You will be picked up at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to the Africa Tulip Hotel (or alternative) in Arusha where you will meet your guide and be briefed on your walking safari.
Overnight at the Africa Tulip Hotel
You will be picked up at the lodge at 08:00hrs and transferred to Ngorongoro Crater for a full day game drive, teeming with wildlife including black rhino, wildebeest, zebra, eland, Grant’s and Thompson’s gazelles, lion, leopard, elephant, mountain reedbuck, buffalo, hyena, jackal, wild dog, cheetah and more. A packed lunch will be provided during your game drive in the crater. Afterwards you will be transferred to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Transfer to Nainokanoka Camp (2600 m) in time for lunch. Afternoon tour of Olmoti Crater (3000 m) – the hike from camp to Olmoti Crater takes about 45 minutes. Chances of either seeing Maasai herding their cattle or wildlife such as buffalo is possible.
Dinner and overnight at Nainokanoka Special Campsite
You depart Nainokanoka Camp at 08:30hrs and commence your trek to Bulati Village (2500m). The trek is 6 hours of walking and 20km in distance. On the way, zebras and wildebeests can be seen grazing as well as raptors due to the many mole rat mounds found in the area. Late afternoon transfer to Bulati village to visit the Maasai bomas before transferring to Bulati Campsite (2500m).
Dinner and overnight at Bulati Campsite
After breakfast you will depart Bulati Campsite to Empakaai Ngoben Campsite (2600m). The trek is 16kms long and takes approximately 4 hours. Plenty of spectacular panoramic views of the landscape can be seen. After enjoying a packed lunch you will descend into Empakaai crater. The caldera is 300m deep and 6kms wide. The trek down is 45 minutes and roughly one hour walk back up. After your crater visit you will be transferred to Empakaai Campsite.
Dinner and overnight at Empakaai Campsite
After breakfast you will walk a short distance around the Empakaai crater (2600m) to stretch our legs and get some good panoramic photos of the caldera. This walk is 5km long and will take approximately an hour. You will then be transferred by vehicle from Kibangasi to Nayobi (about 11km). From Nayobi we will trek to Acacia Campsite. The trek is 13km long and duration of 3 hours downhill. Late afternoon you trek to view the surroundings and to take photos of Ol Doinyo Lengai.
Dinner and overnight at Acacia Campsite
You will wake up very early on this day at 05:30hrs, breakfast will be served at 06:30hrs and we begin our trek at 07:30hrs. The terrain is very dry as you descend the Rift Valley Escarpment to the base of Ol Doinyo Lengai (about 10km). From here you will be transferred by vehicle to Kamakia campsite in Lake Natron. Later on, you will take an excursion to Lake Natron to see the flamingoes and Engare Sero waterfalls.

After breakfast an early morning transfer back to Arusha, Moshi or Kilimanjaro airport for your onward flight.
