Day by Day Overview
Victoria Falls River Lodge, nestled on the Zambezi River, offers diverse accommodations, including Private Luxury Villas, Luxury Tented Suites with private decks and plunge pools, and secluded Island Treehouse Suites. The lodge boasts open-plan dining, lounge, and bar areas, a fitness center, and Toa Spa.
As the first privately owned lodge in Zambezi National Park, it seamlessly combines the African Safari experience with Victoria Falls exploration. Catering to various preferences, it accommodates adventure enthusiasts, relaxation seekers, corporate travelers, families, honeymooners, and retirees, ensuring a delightful experience for every guest.
A natural phenomenon and one of the seven natural wonders of the world, the Victoria Falls is an immense 1.5 km wide curtain of water cascading 100m into the gorge. Around 550 million litres of water fall over the lip every minute. Surrounding the falls is a luscious rainforest, sustained year round by spray created by the thundering falls. There are plant species here which are rarely seen elsewhere in Zimbabwe or Zambia.
ZIMBABWE BIRD WATCHING
Bird enthusiasts around Victoria Falls can explore diverse habitats with Victoria Falls River Lodge and Zambezi National Park offering prime birdwatching opportunities. The best birding time is during the hot, wet months from November to March, with over 400 species in the region.
ZAMBEZI RIVER CRUISE
A Zambezi River Cruise offers stunning views, with Victoria Falls River Lodge on the riverbanks providing uninterrupted vistas of sunsets and wildlife. GAME DRIVES
Victoria Falls River Lodge, in Zambezi National Park, offers exceptional wildlife viewing. On a Victoria Falls Game Drive, witness elephants, hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, sables, kudus, impalas, wild dogs, and big cats. The accommodation rate includes a choice of two game activities: morning/afternoon game drives or sunrise/sunset river cruises. The morning game drive covers the vast 150,000-acre Zambezi National Park and includes hot beverages and traditional baked ‘rusks.’
AFTERNOON GAME DRIVE:
Alternatively, track a magnificent elephant herd as they move silently through the bush or admire stately giraffe as they effortlessly weave their way through spikey acacia thicket – stopping to enjoy the phenomenal sunset with sun-downers and a variety of scrumptious snacks – before returning to Camp for dinner.
SOLE USE GAME VIEWER:
Sole use of a vehicle for game drives is subject to the availability of vehicles on the day i.e. if sufficient vehicles are available on a particular drive, no charge shall be levied. Guests wishing to secure a guaranteed sole use game drive vehicle may pre-book this at an additional rate (T’s &C’s apply).
JUNIOR DISCOVERERS DRIVE:
Junior Discoverer Game Drives are available for children aged 4-7, accompanied by at least one parent. These drives operate seasonally, scheduled in consultation with management, outside standard Game Drive hours. Families with children aged 4-7 wanting to join regular early morning or late afternoon Game Drives require a dedicated game viewer, as per the details above.
TOUR OF VICTORIA FALLS

After your morning safari at 11:00 you will be collected and transferred to Chobe Game Lodge. Chobe Game Lodge offers a tranquil retreat with six viewing decks, a riverside boma, two bars, six lounges, and four dining locations, ensuring relaxation and privacy. Accessible additions cater to travelers with disabilities. The lodge features a large swimming pool and offers spa treatments and a gym.
The Chobe Boardwalk & Deck provides an ideal spot for wildlife viewing. Land and water-based activities include expert-guided game drives and boat cruises, offering a complete Chobe National Park experience with diverse wildlife, including Africa’s largest elephant concentration, lion, African wild dog, buffalo, and more.
Enjoy thrilling early morning and late afternoon game drives, game viewing by small boats, romantic sundowner cruises on the Chobe River, lazy afternoons next to the swimming pool and after-dinner stargazing.
Typical Day on Safari
Please note the below suggested daily program is flexible based on the guests interests, travel times and availability of activities. Day of arrival is usually just afternoon activity and day of departure the morning activity is included (depending on arrival and departure times)
- 04h45 – Early morning wakeup call
- 05h00 – Tea, coffee, muffins, rusks and fruits served
- 05h30 – Leave for morning activity (approximately one and half hours)
- 08h30 – Back to the lodge and full breakfast is served
- 10h30 – Mid morning boat cruise
- 12h30 – Lunch is served
- 15h30 – Afternoon tea is served on the deck (weather permitting)
- 16h00 – Depart for afternoon activity (approximately 3 hours)
- 19h00 – Arrive back at lodge
- 19h30 – Dinner is served at a designated dining location for the evening
After your morning safari you will be transferred to Kasane Airport. From here we can assist you with a flight onwards.
