Day by Day Overview
Pick up from Arusha hotel at 8:00am, then set off on the 3-hour drive to Tarangire National Park for a full day safari inside the park. Later, you will head to camp for dinner and overnight. The location of Tarangire National Park is 115 km from Arusha and covers an area of 2,800 km. Wild animals drink water from the Tarangire River, which is where the name Tarangire comes from. The park’s highlights are its large number of elephants, climbing pythons and baobab trees. You may also see lions, leopards and other animals.
After waking up this morning, you will have a full breakfast, pack your bags into the safari jeep, then start your safari route to the Serengeti with your lunch inside the jeep. On the way, you can admire the magnificent Rift Valley, the Ngorongoro Crater and reach the Serengeti around 3 pm. You will take an evening safari in the central Serengeti where you can watch the sunset, then have dinner and stay overnight at the camp.
The main attraction of the Serengeti is the endless migration of the large wildebeest of the Serengeti which involves 1.5 herbivores and followers – the predators have the habit of moving from one area to another in almost all regions of the Serengeti due to drought. The movement of large numbers of wildebeest from the Serengeti is accompanied by large numbers of zebras and smaller numbers of Grant’s gazelles, Thomson’s gazelles, elk and impalas.
Wake up at 5:45 am for an early breakfast and witness the sunrise over the Serengeti. After breakfast, set out for a full-day game drive across the endless plains. This is an excellent opportunity to spot lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, and many other species. A picnic lunch will be served in the bush before continuing your exploration of different areas of the park. In the evening, return to your camp for dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast, depart from the Serengeti and drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (about 3–4 hours). Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy a game drive on the crater floor, where you may encounter black rhinos, hippos, lions, elephants, and an incredible variety of birdlife including a high concentrations of flamingos. Lunch will be served at the Hippo Pool picnic site. In the afternoon, ascend from the crater and drive back to Arusha (approximately 4–5 hours), where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
