Connecting flights stop at a few airports on the way. The flight ticket will mention the type of flight. If it specifies two stops, it means your flight will stop at two locations.
For example, suppose a person from New Zealand books a connecting flight from Auckland Airport to Kotoka International Airport with Emirates. The flight will stop at two airports before reaching the airport in Ghana. Suppose the first stop is Kuala Lumpur International airport, the person who wants to visit Ghana will remain seated and wait for the flight to take off. On the other hand, people who booked a ticket for Kuala Lumpur will disembark. This is when the airline or aircraft isn’t changed for the onward journey.
Sometimes the airlines are changed and therefore, the person who booked a ticket to Ghana will have to disembark with the rest and get on the connecting flight. Here’s a flight ticket preview for a flight from New Zealand’s Auckland Airport to Ghana’s Kotoka International Airport at Accra.
