Uganda, Rwanda & DRC
As well as the mountain gorillas, Uganda is also home to one of Africa’s tallest ranges, Rwenzori Mountains (also known as the ‘Mountains of the Moon’), as well as 10 national parks, each with its own wonders. Arrive Africa Safaris’ most popular experiences in Uganda include a wildlife-rich boat cruise in Murchison Falls National Park; marveling at the famous tree-climbing lions in Queen Elizabeth National Park; venturing into Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to see the legendary mountain gorillas; tracking gorillas in the wild in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
Most of Rwanda’s tourism is dominated by gorilla trekking, an activity that’s earned its reputation as one of the must-do adventures on any trip to Africa. However, there’s so much more to discover in Rwanda — such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial or the 200-meter-high canopy walk in Nyungwe Forest.
Arrive Africa Safaris also organizes trips to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where around six mountain gorilla families have been habituated for gorilla tracking in Virunga National Park, while lowland gorillas can be seen in Kahuzi-Biéga National Park. Experienced guides take visitors into the gorilla’s world — these trackers and park rangers have helped to habituate the gorilla groups and know them intimately. Visitors need to be physically fit and must be fully equipped for a day’s trekking in varied terrain
