Day by Day Overview

After a pleasant arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed by a representative who will meet and greet you. After a short introduction, he will transfer you to your  hotel within Arusha city for your night stay on Bed and Breakfast basis.

After breakfast in your hotel in Arusha, drive to Tarangire National Park for game viewing and photographing. Famous for its massive baobab trees, home of the African elephants (with high concentration than any other park) and tree climbing pythons, Tarangire National Park is small but still home to a significant wildlife population, with a density of wildlife matched only by Ngorongoro Crater. Dinner and overnight in Tarangire on full board basis.

Today we drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a full day of game drives. This is one of Tanzania’s smaller parks but still offers a rewarding and diverse safari experience. The lakeshore at Manyara teems with birdlife, and while you are looking for the birds, you might spot one of the elusive tree-climbing lions. In the late afternoon, we make a short journey from the park to our Lodge. Dinner and overnight at the Camp/Lodge on full board basis.

Lake Eyasi is about two hours’ drive from Manyara and just an hour drive south-west of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. To the north-east you can see the Ngorongoro Highlands and to the north are the plains of the Serengeti. Around 150 years ago when the warlike Masai tribes invaded Ngorongoro and Serengeti, the Datoga and other indigenous Bushmen lived there were driven south. Dinner and overnight at the Camp/Lodge on full board basis.

Breakfast then drive towards the Serengeti National Park. With a game drive en-route, there is also an opportunity to visit Olduvai Gorge. After lunch, we drive into the Serengeti itself and the rest of the afternoon is spent game viewing in the vast plains that are broken only by stands of acacia trees and the occasional kopje. Dinner and overnight at the Camp/Lodge on full board basis.

We have another full day in this wonderful park, rising early to make the most of our time. Our guides will choose the best spotting locations for the time of year. Return to the camp for the night. Dinner and overnight at the Camp/Lodge on full board basis.

Enjoy an early morning game drive before heading to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Ngorongoro is a special place in that it is a Conservation Area, not a National Park; this means that the whole area is managed for both the animals and the local Masai people who graze their cattle alongside the indigenous wildlife. In the late afternoon, we travel just inside of Ngorongoro Conservation Area to our special lodge. Dinner and overnight at the Camp/Lodge on full board basis.

After breakfast, descend to the crater floor for a full day crater tour with picnic lunch. Supported by year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo and elephants. Late afternoon drive to Arusha for leisure, dinner and overnight on bed & breakfast basis.

Depart early in the morning for Mount Kilimanjaro exploration (lunch included), walking over the foothills of the mountain; get oriented on how climbers are set before the trek to the rooftop of Africa, discover natural waterfalls and Chagga traditional houses, caves and visit a nice view point of the mountain (only if the weather allows). Later in the afternoon road transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight.
