Day by Day Overview

You will be met by one of our representatives at the Kilimanjaro International Airport and taken to your hotel in Arusha. Enjoy some lunch, depending on the time of your arrival, and receive a short briefing about your safari that begins in the morning. Relax for the remainder of the day and enjoy a delicious dinner.

In the morning you will leave Arusha and make your way to the Tarangire National Park, arriving in time for lunch. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park in search of the large elephant herds as you drive through the beautiful landscapes dotted with the iconic baobab trees. Visit the Silalei Swamp and Tarangire River to see what animals have come to drink. Enjoy an amazing sunset before heading back to camp for the evening.

A full day of exploring the park awaits. Head out in the morning to make the most of the soft light, providing the opportunity to take amazing photographs of the numerous wildlife species you will encounter with beautiful backdrops provided by the acacias, Africa’s quintessential thorn trees. During the dry season, the Silalei Swamp attracts thousands of animals as a much needed water source, proving excellent game sightings along the grassy banks of the swamp. After a full day in the park you will head back to your camp for the evening.

Today you will visit the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. At more than 2,000 feet deep and 12 miles in diameter, the Ngorongoro Crater has one of the largest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, housing 30,000 animals. The reserve is the perfect place to see the big five and capture phenomenal photographs in the lush setting, encircled by the towering rim walls. After some game viewing you will enjoy a picnic lunch in the reserve before continuing your game drive in search of more animals. Later make your way to the lodge, to your private stone balcony, providing views over the vast crater below. Enjoy an intimate barbecue and relax for the remainder of the evening.

Today you make your way to the famous Serengeti National Park, with an en-route stopver at the Olduvai Gorge Museum. Learn about some of our earliest human ancestors at the museum before driving to the central region of the Serengeti. The park is known for its huge herds of migrating wildebeest and the large population of big cats, particularly that of the cheetah. Enjoy some game viewing as you drive through the park and head to your lodge for the next 4 nights.

Follow The Wildebeest Great Migration

Spend your next two days exploring the endless plains that stretch across the central Serengeti and search for the wildlife that lurk within them. Break the day into morning and evening drives, heading out first thing in the morning to catch the sunrise. Alternatively you can have a leisurely breakfast and enjoy a full day game drive with a packed picnic lunch. Witness some of the world’s best game viewing and take some spectacular photographs of the magnificent creatures you encounter before heading back to camp in the evening.

Venture out into the plains once more, home to one of the largest wildlife populations in the world. Make your way to the Serengeti kopies, small rocky mounds that provide excellent vantage points for the big cats to spot the antelope that roam the plains. Enjoy sightings of various smaller creatures that inhabit these rocky areas, including the rock hyrax, the elephants closest relative, as well as the honey badger and at least five mongoose species. In the evening, after an amazing sunset, head back to your lodge after an amazing day of sightings and a full camera.

Today you will explore the Seronera River Valley, a region of the Serengeti that is home to a diverse variety of wildlife thanks to its unique and distinct habitats where the grassland plains meet the woodlands. Head out in the early morning for the best chance to see the big cats on a hunt and enjoy a magnificent sunrise. Search for any of the animals you are yet to find and enjoy the sounds and smells of the bushveld that surrounds you. Head back to your camp in the evening for your final night under the stars as your safari draws to a close.

Enjoy your final morning drive and your last opportunity to take as many photographs as you can as you make your way to the airstrip. You will board a light aircraft and take a bush flight, flying over the Serengeti before it takes you back to Arusha. Enjoy some lunch, freshen up and later eat some dinner, depending on the time of your flight, before making your way to the airport to catch your flight back home.
