Day by Day Overview
You will be picked up by the driver and head southwards to Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch and relax. Afterwards, have an afternoon game drive in the reserve. Enjoy an exploratory drive around the 1,792sq km game park with its low hills and savannah type rolling grasslands, gallery forest on the Mara River, and its tributaries. Get introduced to the herbivores; elephant, rhino, buffalo, and the variety of antelopes, the Masai giraffe, and the Burchell zebra. The carnivores are the black maned lion, cheetah, and leopard. Also to be seen are the largest bird, the Masai ostrich, the secretary bird, the crested crane and saddle-bill stork. Crocodiles and hippos share the river. You’ll return to your lodge by sunset.
You will have an early morning balloon safari ride across the Masai Mara plains. Followed by champagne breakfast. Masai Mara is an extension of the Serengeti ecosystem to the south. Game abounds here; the Mara is noted for its abundance of lions, particularly the superb black maned males. See the great migration where over 1.5 million wildebeest and other antelopes cross the mighty Mara River. Experience the battle between survival and hunger. You are also likely to see lots of elephants here often in large herds. If you’re lucky, you may see the leopard, cheetah and rhino. All of the Big Five are residents. You’re sure to see the African buffalo. Get the cameras ready, and enjoy yourselves.
After breakfast, head to the Mara River again with hopes of seeing the wildebeest crossing. If you have seen the crossing yesterday, you can choose to return to the river or go around the Mara in search of the remaining Big 5 you have not spotted. Again, you will have picnic lunch in the reserve as you scale the Mara beauty. Return to the camp before dusk for accommodation.
After breakfast. Check out, an optional village visits can be arranged at an extra cost and drive towards Lake Nakuru National Park. Drive through the park and arrive at your camp in time for lunch. After lunch, have an afternoon game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru is a small park with over 50% of its area covered by the Lake. Located in the middle of the Rift Valley, Lake Nakuru has a wide variety of animals which includes the Rothschild giraffes, lions, white and black rhinos, as well as the leopard. All these can be spotted depending on your luck. The park is also considered by birdwatchers as an ornithological paradise! A myriad of both greater and lesser flamingoes have made this lake their home.
Have breakfast at the hotel then you will depart for Hells Gate National Park, where you’ll have a game drive at the park. Today your lunch will be a picnic. Later you will depart to Lake Naivasha – here you will do the boat ride and bird watching.
Enjoy your breakfast. Later, drive to Amboseli National Park where you will arrive in time for lunch. After lunch, proceed for an afternoon game drive. Here, you will be searching for the big herds of the African elephants, cheetahs, lions, the gazelles, and the elusive elands. If the weather permits, you will be able to have a magnificent view of the Kilimanjaro.
Today we enjoy Amboseli Park. After breakfast, depart for a morning game drive. Later be transferred to your camp for lunch at leisure. Afterwards embark on an afternoon game drive. You will be able to see the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, the Big Five and more than 400 birds species.
Enjoy your breakfast. Check out and drive back to Nairobi. Later, you will be transferred to your hotel for overnight or airport for your flight back home.
