8-Day Zanzibar Island & Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, your taxi will be waiting to take you on a short drive to Zanzibar Airport for your flight to Arusha. The flight is quick and comfortable, lasting just over an hour. Upon arrival in Arusha, the safari capital of Tanzania, you will be greeted by your driver-guide, who will accompany you on the transfer to Tarangire National Park to begin your private safari game drive.

The park, named after the Tarangire River that runs through it, is a tranquil haven known for its incredible elephant migration, diverse birdlife, and authentic safari atmosphere. As you explore, you’ll enjoy a packed lunch during the midday break, surrounded by the beauty of the park. After an exciting afternoon game drive, you will head to your accommodation. Upon arrival, you’ll have time to relax and refresh before enjoying a delicious dinner under the stars. Finally, unwind in one of our cozy canvas accommodations for a restful night’s sleep, ready for the adventures ahead.

Be sure to wake up early today to ensure a timely descent into the famous Ngorongoro Crater. As you enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will be immediately captivated by the stunning beauty surrounding you. The moment you reach the rim of the crater, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of one of the world’s Natural Wonders. The crater, formed by an inactive volcano over 3 million years ago, spans 20 square kilometers and is the largest unbroken volcanic caldera on Earth.

Due to its natural boundaries, the wildlife in the crater is truly extraordinary. It’s home to the Big Five, and offers one of the best chances to spot the rare black rhinoceros. With hyenas, zebras, buffaloes, and elephants also roaming freely, this is a safari experience you won’t soon forget. After an exciting afternoon game drive, you’ll head to your next camp to relax and reflect on the day’s adventure.

Today, you’ll embark on a long but rewarding drive through the vast Serengeti National Park. Depending on the movement of the migration, you may venture further north, where the endless plains give way to acacia forests and dense bush. The northern section of Serengeti is less visited than the southern and central areas, offering a more exclusive safari experience with fewer vehicles on the road.

As the day comes to a close, you’ll exit the park through Klein’s Gate. Just a few kilometers away, you’ll be immersed in the rich and vibrant culture of the Maasai, a captivating glimpse into the traditions of this iconic community.

After breakfast, you will set off on a drive to Serengeti National Park, home to an incredible variety of wildlife, both herbivores and carnivores. You’ll encounter majestic buffalo, elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, hippos, and Nile crocodiles, along with antelope species such as elands, oribis, topis, impalas, and Thomson’s gazelles.

As you journey through the park, you’ll likely spot zebras, giraffes, and many other animals along the way. Get ready to be awe-struck when you first glimpse the vast, endless plains of the Serengeti, a truly iconic sight that will leave you speechless.

After a restful night’s sleep, today marks your final game drive in the Serengeti, which will conclude in the afternoon at the Seronera Airstrip. From there, you’ll enjoy breathtaking aerial views as you fly over Serengeti National Park, taking in the changing landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. You may even catch a glimpse of the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro as your plane makes a brief stop in Arusha.

Upon arrival at Zanzibar Airport, your driver-guide will be waiting to take you to Sea Cliff Resort, where you’ll check into your suite with a mangrove or pool view on an all-inclusive meal plan. The next few days are yours to enjoy at leisure, with the resort’s excellent facilities at your fingertips.
