Zanzibar is home to the rarely seen red colobus monkey, found in the Jozani forest, which you can experience on a guided tour that lasts for half a day. The forest is also called Chwaka Bay Park, is home to the uncommon red colobus monkey. As you stroll through the forest, you’ll find the opportunity to see the monkeys very close and find out about the different plants and creatures that call this spot home. The park covers a region of around 6,200 sections of land and is comprised of a general forest.
Later on, transfer to the south-east coastline of Zanzibar, recognized as amongst the most beautiful in east Africa and providing the stage for an extraordinary experience. Head to Maalum Cave, located on Paje Beach on Zanzibar’s southeast coast, a special well-maintained natural swimming pool. Carved from limestone, it’s a unique and relaxing spot to connect with nature, perfect for swimming and unwinding. This is because the low and high tides in the area aren’t as extreme and there is a much higher concentration of sand vs seaweed and coral which is more prevalent on the eastern side. There are various activities at the beach as well as turtle conservation ponds. Later in the day drive back to the hotel for dinner, shower, rest and overnight.

Catch the early morning flight for a Mikumi day trip. Mikumi National Park is in the Morogoro region, bordered by Selous Game Reserve to the south. The landscape of Mikumi is often compared to that of the Serengeti National Park. The road that crosses the park divides it into two areas with partially distinct environments. The area north-west is characterized by the alluvial plain of the river basin Mkata. The vegetation of this area consists of savannah dotted with acacia, baobab, tamarinds and some rare palm. The park is home to a subspecies of giraffe that biologists consider the link between the Masai giraffe and the reticulated giraffe. Other animals in the park are elephants, zebras, impala, eland, kudu, black antelope, baboons, wildebeests and buffaloes. Later on, catch the flight back to Zanzibar to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
