Day by Day Overview
Today, you will be picked up from the airport or your accommodation in Nairobi by our company representative. After a brief introductory session, you will be handed over to your driver-guide to begin your safari towards Amboseli National Park. You will arrive at the lodge in time for lunch. After lunch, you can enjoy the camp’s facilities and activities before embarking on your first afternoon game drive, returning to your lodge or hotel at sunset.
Amboseli National Park is renowned for its breathtaking panoramic views of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the tallest freestanding mountain in the world and the highest peak in Africa at 5,895 meters. The park is also an elephant paradise, where large populations of African savanna elephants roam from swamp to swamp, grazing throughout the day. The observation hill provides stunning views of the mountain peak and the park’s plains and swamps. The varied wildlife in the park includes giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, wildebeest, buffalo, and many more.
Leave the camp after breakfast, carrying your packed lunch to enjoy in the wild. Spend the whole day exploring the marshlands and swamps of Amboseli, which are fed by subterranean water channels. Water is abundant throughout the year, as is the pasture. Elephants and various other herbivores can be found here. After a long day of exploration in this 392 km² park, you will return to the lodge late in the afternoon.
Alternatively, you can start the day with an early morning game drive to search for animals when they are most active. Then return to the lodge for a relaxed breakfast and lunch.
During the hottest part of the day, take some time to relax in camp. You can read your favorite book, write about the safari in your journal, or listen to your favorite music while observing the birds. Don’t worry; the animals will be resting too! In the afternoon, head out again at 16:00 for another drive through the park. Return to the lodge at sunset for dinner and overnight.
After enjoying an early breakfast, you will depart from Amboseli National Park and drive towards Nairobi. Along the way, there will be a stop at the renowned Carnivore Restaurant or Tamarind for lunch. Next, you will visit the spectacular Great Rift Valley viewpoint, where you can stretch your legs and capture photos of the contrasting landscapes, including Mount Longonot and Mount Suswa. Following this, you will continue on to the Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort (or a similar venue).
In the afternoon, you have the option to take a boat ride, offering a refreshing experience as you explore the diverse birdlife and wildlife around the lake. Alternatively, you can choose to relax by the poolside in preparation for a busy day filled with outdoor activities the following day.
Please note that the activities mentioned above are not included in the price and are optional. Payment for these activities should be made directly to the suppliers.
Get ready for a day filled with outdoor activities! After breakfast, pack your belongings and head to the nearby animal sanctuary for a walking safari. Alternatively, you can visit Crescent Island, where the animals are less wary of humans, allowing you to take pictures at close range.
After the sanctuary, drive to Hell’s Gate National Park, where you can choose to cycle, walk, or drive through the park, as it is one of the few national parks that permit these activities. Following this adventure, enjoy lunch before departing for Lake Nakuru. You’ll arrive in the late afternoon and have a game drive on your way to your lodge, which is located within the park.
After having breakfast, you will begin your first early morning game drive. Despite the early start, morning game drives are incredibly rewarding, as you can spot animals when they are most active. Lake Nakuru is home to flamingos, black and white rhinos, lions, leopards, buffalo, and the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe. The southern end of the lake is the best place to observe wildlife.
Following the game drive, you will exit the park and return to the lodge for lunch (you can choose to carry picnic lunch boxes if you prefer). After lunch, you will drive through the Rift Valley floor to the Masai Mara National Reserve. Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed by Maasai warriors who will escort you on a cultural walking safari, including a visit to a Maasai village to learn more about the community that has coexisted with the Mara wildlife for centuries. You will return later in the day.
This is a full day spent game viewing across the rich tree-studded grassland and rolling hills of the famous “Eighth Wonder of the Animal World”. The Mara is renowned for its great herds of plains game animals like leopards, cheetahs and lions. It also has numerous elephants and virtually every other type of wildlife to be found in Kenya. You will have a full-day game drive in Masai Mara National Reserve.
Your lunch today is picnic lunch boxes in the savannah under a flat-top acacia tree while watching the animals grazing. Continue with the game viewing on-route to your camp, arriving at your late in the afternoon after thoroughly exploring this massive grassland savannah measuring 1,500 km.
You have an option of booking a balloon ride today which takes off early in the morning. After landing, the crew helps you out of the basket and escorts you to a lovely setting for a bush breakfast. It is a lifetime experience and well worth the price.
Depending on your homebound flight departure time, you will organize with your driver guide the departure time from Masai Mara. After a leisurely morning breakfast, you will check out of your lodge, pack up, and drive back to Nairobi. On the way, you can choose to visit a Maasai Village for a cultural experience, where you’ll learn more about the community that has co-existed with the Mara wildlife for centuries.
Afterwards proceed with the journey to Nairobi, arriving in the mid-afternoon. You’ll be dropped off at your respective hotel or at the airport, marking the end of your safari.
