Day by Day Overview
Upon arrival at the airport, our representative will greet and transport you to your Arusha accommodation. Take this time to unwind and prepare for an incredible adventure ahead! Get ready to immerse yourself in the splendor of northern Tanzania’s safari life, a captivating prelude to the adventure of a lifetime.
Following breakfast, we will venture to Tarangire National Park, approximately two and a half hours away on smooth tarmac roads. Named after the Tarangire River, the lifeline for wildlife during the dry season, the park is renowned for its elephant families gathering by the river. Expect to encounter giraffes, bushbuck, and hartebeest, closely followed by majestic predators like lions and leopards. Tarangire boasts an incredible variety of breeding bird species unmatched elsewhere. Witness the grandeur of ancient baobab trees, some having stood for millennia. Lunch will be served at a picturesque picnic site inside the park. After an exhilarating game drive, we will make our way to the splendid accommodation near the park for a well-deserved rest.
Following breakfast, we will set off to Lake Manyara National Park, a unique and diverse destination. Everything here is on a different scale! From its compact size (one of Africa’s narrowest parks) to its epic beauty, with the Great Rift Valley escarpment towering over its western boundary. The park’s namesake, a shallow salt lake, expands and contracts with the seasons, attracting thousands of wading birds, including mesmerizing flamingos and over 500 other bird species. Keep an eye out for baboons and elephants in the thick evergreen forest, and be on the lookout for the renowned tree-climbing lions that have made their mark throughout Africa. After a fulfilling day in the park, we will take a short drive to your accommodation for a well-deserved rest.
After breakfast, we will journey into the cooler regions of Ngorongoro Conservation Area, offering breathtaking views of the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. We will enter the Serengeti from the south through this conservation area, where its vast open grasslands promise exceptional wildlife sightings. The Serengeti’s abundant wildlife is legendary, but its true highlight is the annual Great Migration. During the migration, witness immense herds of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope, following a perpetual quest for fresh grazing in a captivating natural rhythm. The migration occurs throughout the year, and we will ensure you are in the right place for this awe-inspiring spectacle! Later, we will transfer to the hotel for a restful overnight stay.
The entire day will be dedicated to game drives in the Serengeti. Experience the awe-inspiring wildlife, from impalas and buffaloes to crocodiles and hippos. Watch for majestic predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards amidst the iconic landscapes. If the Great Migration is nearby, we may venture beyond the central region to witness this extraordinary natural phenomenon—an experience that will stay with you forever! After the game drives, we will return to the hotel for a well-deserved rest.
Following breakfast, we will journey to the awe-inspiring Ngorongoro Crater. Upon first sight, it is like stepping into a forgotten world hidden by steep volcanic walls, a pristine wilderness with sweeping savannah, acacia woodlands, and glistening lakes and swamps. The crater, formed by a colossal volcanic explosion and collapse millions of years ago, presents a unique landscape. Descending into the crater is an exhilarating adventure. Once on the crater floor, you will be surrounded by an array of wildlife, including wildebeest, zebras, gazelle, and over 500 bird species. The crater offers a great chance to spot the endangered black rhino roaming the open grasslands. After an enriching afternoon exploring the crater, we will head to your accommodation for a delightful dinner and a restful overnight stay.
