Dinner and overnight in Samburu Sopa Lodge or equivalent camp
The day shall be spent with game viewing drives and relaxing interludes at the Samburu Game Reserve. Game viewing drives in this dry and scenic game reserve are concentrated along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro river. This is where most wildlife is found.
Meals and overnight in Samburu Sopa Lodge or equivalent camp
Early morning game and scenery viewing drive as you exit the Samburu. There shall be a stop to view the Thompson Falls at Nyahururu. Proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park, a birdlife heaven, at the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Due to some progressive natural factors like increasing water levels, the flamingo numbers have been reducing but the park itself remains stunning – one of Kenya’s finest. Great rocky escarpments tower over acacia forest, waterfalls, wooded hills and euphorbia trees dot the lake. The flamingos are accompanied by other birdlife – pelicans, cormorants, kingfishers, ostriches, storks as well as herons and eagles. The scene here is bountiful, busy and full of color. But that’s only the beginning of what this special park has to offer because the wildlife viewing here is easy and accessible. Lake Nakuru is known for hosting some endangered but beautiful species. You’re sure to see rare Rothschild’s giraffe along with white rhino, especially along the lakeshore. The park is also sanctuary to one of Kenya’s largest populations of black rhino.
Meals and overnight in Nakuru Sopa Lodge or equivalent
Today you will have an early rise, your breakfast is followed by an en route bird and game viewing as you exit at the Lake Nakuru National Park to proceed to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. You will arrive in Masai Mara in the afternoon for your lunch and an afternoon game drive follows.
All meals and overnight in Ongatuny Mara King Camp or other equivalent camp
On this day, it is a game viewing extravaganza! Masai Mara Game Reserve remains the most exciting wildlife eco-system spotted plains. It is host to the highest and most varied concentration of wild animals than any other wildlife park in the region, its scenic appeal of the tree studded savannah plains, the moderate climate and diversity of wild game species makes it a one stop shop for game viewing activities. It’s a day to traverse the Masai Mara Reserve on a full day of unlimited game viewing encountering the big five and more of the other game. It’s your chance to visit the Mara river where you will be watching hippos & crocodiles basking along the banks of the river. If you are lucky to be around during (July – October), you will be watching the great migration of wildebeest and zebras. Great time to enjoy the big cats hunts.
All meals and overnight in Ongatuny Mara King Camp or other equivalent camp
After a leisurely breakfast at your lodge/camp, your dedicated driver guide will assist you with the checkout process. You will then pass by the Masai village to learn more about their culture (optional activity) then you will later proceed to return to Nairobi – Kenya’s colorful capital city. On the way, your guide will point out the Longonot extinct volcano which is a strato volcano located southeast of Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya. It is thought to have last erupted in the 1860s and its name is derived from the Maasai word Oloonong’ot, meaning “mountains of many spurs” or “steep ridges “. You can opt to drive via Naivasha for lunch/excursions at an extra cost or drive straight to Nairobi where you will be dropped at your preferred city hotel or at the airport. Its here that our safari with you end, with much gratitude from African Breeze Tours.
