Breakfast at the camp, check out and drive to Maasai Mara National Park. The Maasai Mara National Reserve is one of the most outstanding reserves in the whole of East Africa and Africa at large. With the same eco system as the Serengeti National Park, the reserve is characterized by rolling open grassland savannah with patches of distinctive acacia trees.
The reserve is home to the annual spectacular wildebeest migration which is one of the “7 Natural Wonders of the World”. The migration occurs from late June to late October (depending on the weather patterns) with millions of wildebeest and other grazers such as zebras, topis, antelopes, and other wildlife moving from miles and miles from the Serengeti National Park to Maasai Mara Reserve through the Mara River for fresh grass and mating before returning to the Serengeti around late October.

The reserve also boasts of around 500 bird species including ostrich, secretary bird, cranes, eagles, marabou stork, vulture as well as the big five (lion, Cape buffalo, rhino, leopard and elephant) to mention a few. Apart from the flora and fauna, we also have the Maa community who are the major inhabitants of this beautiful region. On your last day of the safari you can visit their Manyatta and learn more about their ways of living. Return to the camp late in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Overnight at Tipilikwani Camp

On these days, you can choose between the three options depending on your flexibility and preference:

Option 1: Have breakfast and then proceed for a full day game viewing with packed lunch boxes in Kenya’s finest wildlife reserve, searching for the big five and other animals.

Option 2: You may opt for an early morning game drive searching for the big cats making a kill then return to the Camp/Lodge to freshen up and have breakfast. Spend the rest of the morning at your leisure either swimming, reading a book or just relaxing. Later, have lunch and proceed for another afternoon/evening game drive in search of the big five and other animals.

Option 3: You may choose to go an optional Hot Air Balloon Safari Experience (USD 430 per person). Ideally, you will be picked up early in the morning from your Camp/Lodge and transferred to the launch site. The whole experience takes about an hour and a half. From there, you can proceed with the game drives with packed lunch until the evening combing the wild in search of wildlife. You can also visit a Maasai Mara Cultural Village to learn more about their Culture & Traditions at an extra cost ($30 per person).

Return to the lodge for a shower, relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Overnight at Tipilikwani Camp

Wake up to enjoy a well-prepared morning breakfast for one last time. After breakfast, you will check out at around 0800hrs and drive back to Nairobi, arriving late in the afternoon. Upon arrival the driver will drop you off at the airport for your flight back home. Bid farewell to Africa, taking with you a lifetime of adventurous memories.
