This unique safari in Tanzania takes you to Gombe Stream National Park, via scheduled flight and boat transfer, the park known for Jane Goodall and her chimpanzee research in the 1960s. The dense forest is the home of chimpanzees and other species of primates such as vervet monkeys, colobus monkeys and baboons as well as forest pigs and various tropical birds. Track in the forest to find a chimpanzee family to see them at close hand, visit waterfalls and walk along the shore of Lake Tanganyika. You will also visit a local village to see how the local people live.

Day By Day Overview
Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam and be transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight to Kigoma. Then you will be transferred to Kibirizi port for your boat to Gombe National Park. Here you will be picked up from your flight and transferred to the rest house for a hot lunch. Later in the evening we start the chimpanzee tracking in the forest. Gombe Stream’s main attraction is the chimpanzee families that live protected in the park’s boundaries. Visitors take walks deep into the forest to observe and sit with the extraordinary primates for an entire morning. Apart from chimpanzee viewing, many other species of primates live in Gombe Stream’s tropical forests. Vervet and colobus monkeys, baboons, forest pigs and various tropical birds inhabit the dense forest.
Dinner and overnight: Tanapa Rest House/Tented Camp
You will have breakfast at 8 am and at 8.30 am go for chimpanzee tracking in the forest. You will also visit Kakombe waterfalls which is among the best attractions in the park. If time allows, you can climb Jane’s Peak where you will have a chance to enjoy the view of the park.
Meals and overnight: Gombe Rest House
After breakfast, start chimpanzee trekking in different valleys, walk in the forest, and visit Mkenge waterfall. At midday you will be back for lunch and afterwards enjoy sunset viewing and a nature walk along the shore of Lake Tanganyika.
After breakfast we will take a boat trip from Gombe main gate to Mwamgongo Cultural Experience where you will see how people conduct their daily activities and enjoy watching the local dancing.
After breakfast transfer from your hotel and travel to Kigoma airport for your journey home.
