Day by Day Overview
On the first day of your gorilla trekking adventure, you will be met by your driver-guide upon arrival at Kigali International Airport or your hotel in Kigali. After a brief introduction, you will start your scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda via the Kigali Genocide memorial which was set up to teach different generations about anti-human incident that befell the people of Rwanda in 1994. The journey takes about 4-5 hours, passing through picturesque landscapes, local villages, and lush hillsides. Enjoy the scenic beauty along the way as you head to your accommodation offering a comfortable and affordable stay near the park. After check-in, you can relax and prepare for the gorilla trekking the following day.

Today you will rise early for breakfast before heading to the Bwindi park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. Here, you’ll receive important safety guidelines and trekking information from park rangers. After the briefing, you will be assigned to a trekking group and enter the lush forest in search of the gorillas. The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on where the gorillas are located. Once you find a gorilla family, you will spend an awe-inspiring hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitat. After the trek, drive to the deepest lake in Uganda which is also known as “the place of little birds”, enjoy beautiful sceneries around the lake . After arrival check in at your lodge

On the final day of your 3-day adventure, after breakfast you will have a morning canoe cruise along Lake Bunyonyi which gives a chance to explore the islands on the lake. After the cruise, check out of your lodge and begin the return drive to Kigali. The journey back provides more beautiful views of the Rwandan countryside. You will stop for lunch along the way and take a moment to soak in the peaceful surroundings. Arriving in Kigali by the late afternoon, your driver-guide will drop you off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your incredible gorilla trekking experience.
