Day by Day Overview

Depending on your location on day one of the 3 days safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will give you a brief insight into the safari and thereafter begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. This trip begins with traveling southwest through the districts of Wakiso, Mpigi, and Masaka while viewing the local livelihoods of the communities in the central region of Uganda. Then connect to Mbarara where you will make a stopover for lunch upon arriving in Mbarara city.

After lunch, you will proceed to Bwindi through Bushenyi district, the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park and, if lucky, you may see the tree-climbing lions and other big five animals such as elephants and buffaloes. Then continue with the views of magnificent scenery and the rolling hills of Kigezi and finally Kanungu district connecting to Buhoma, which is part of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Upon arrival in Bwindi, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Accommodation Option: Buhoma Lodge or Similar

Wake up very early in the morning for breakfast on day two then meet with your driver guide (with your packed lunch) to transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. You will be briefed about the safety guidelines and allocated guides and groups for trekking gorillas. Setting off at exactly 8:00 am, the ranger guides make sure everyone has their packed lunch, enough drinking water, comfortable safe shoes, and a porter (if needed) to help carry your backpack so you can comfortably enjoy your gorilla trekking experience.

Observing and photographing these gentle giants is so breathtaking. You are literally looking at creatures so human in every aspect. Be prepared as trekking of the mountain gorillas may take 1 hour to 7 hours depending on where your allocated gorilla family may be at. After trekking gorillas, return to the lodge and have a relaxed evening or a walk to the pygmy families on the outskirts of the forest. Have dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Accommodation Option: Buhoma Lodge or Similar

On the last day of the three-day safari, have breakfast early morning and embark on your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. On the way will have a stop-over in Mbarara city for lunch then proceed with another stop-over at the Equator in Kayabwe to take photos, buy souvenirs, and learn more about the equator. You will then continue to Kampala or drop off at Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.
