Tsavo East & Tsavo West National Parks
Tsavo East National Park, the largest in Kenya, is characterized by its sparse vegetation, which makes game spotting easier and more rewarding. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to see the unique Tsavo lions, whose males are famously maneless. The park’s elephants are also a highlight, often seen rolling in the park’s red dust, creating a striking contrast as they move toward one of the many watering holes. Just a short distance away, Tsavo West National Park offers a different but equally captivating experience, with its dramatic hills, vibrant landscapes, cool, clear springs and iconic baobab trees. This park is home to the big five as well as a variety of monkeys and baboons; a visit to the rhino sanctuary is a notable feature of the trip.

Day by Day Overview
Your adventure begins with an early pick-up from your Kenyan beach resort. After departing, we journey along the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway, embarking on a scenic 120 km drive toward the southern entrance of Tsavo East National Park. A brief stop for refreshments (optional) will provide a quick break before we proceed into the park.
Upon entering the park, enjoy an exciting game drive through the southern section of Tsavo East, where you’ll have the chance to spot a variety of wildlife, including:
- Elephants
- Gazelles
- Giraffes
- Monkeys
- Zebras
- And many more fascinating species.
Afterwards, we’ll head to your accommodation for a relaxing lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive to explore more of the park. As the day draws to a close, you’ll be treated to stunning views of the African sunset across the savannah.

We’ll rise before sunrise to embark on an exciting early-morning game drive. Witness the breathtaking beauty of an African sunrise as it bathes the savanna, while we search for the early risers—both grazers and hunters—on the vast plains of Tsavo East National Park.
By 9:00 am, we’ll return to your lodge or camp for a hearty breakfast before setting off for Tsavo West National Park, with a leisurely game drive en route. To maximize your time in the wild, we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch within Tsavo West, one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet. The chances of spotting a wide variety of animals are incredibly high as we traverse this unique landscape. A visit to the rhino sanctuary will be one of the highlights of the day before we return to your camp or lodge for a delicious dinner.

On our final day of safari, we’ll set off before sunrise for a thrilling pre-breakfast game drive. The early morning is when nature truly comes alive—predators are on the hunt, and herbivores are grazing on the dewy vegetation. The volcanic terrain is bathed in natural hues, creating a picturesque backdrop as we explore.
After a hearty breakfast at your camp or lodge, we’ll head out for another exciting adventure. This time, we’ll visit the stunning Mzima Springs, with more wildlife sightings along the way. At Mzima Springs, enjoy a relaxing nature walk and marvel at the crystal-clear waters surrounded by lush greenery—a refreshing oasis in the semi-desert landscape. Here, you’ll have the chance to spot hippos, crocodiles, vibrant fish, and unique migratory birds.
After leaving Tsavo West, we’ll begin our journey back to the Kenyan coast, stopping for a delicious lunch in the town of Voi before continuing on. We aim to arrive at your beach resort or Mombasa Airport in the late afternoon.
