Gombe Stream’s main attraction is the chimpanzee families living protected in the park’s boundaries. Visitors walk deep into the forest to observe and sit with the extraordinary primates for an entire morning. Apart from chimpanzee viewing, many other species of primates live in Gombe Stream’s tropical forests. Vervet and colobus monkeys, baboons, forest pigs, and duiker inhabit the dense forest and a wide variety of tropical birdlife.

Day by Day Overview
You will take your flight from Dar es Salaam to Kigoma. Our representative (or your guide) will meet you at the airport, pick you up on arrival, and transfer to Kibirizi port for your boat to Gombe (2-hour boat trip). Pick up on arrival and transfer to the camp. Afterwards, proceed for chimpanzee tracking in the forest. Dinner & overnight in Gombe
Start chimpanzee tracking in the forest. Gombe became well known for the conservation project by Jane Goodall, who first arrived in Gombe in 1960. Apart from chimpanzee viewing, many other species of primates live in Gombe Stream’s tropical forests, like vervet, colobus monkeys and baboons. Climb to Jane’s Peak and visit Kakombe waterfalls if time allows.
Dinner & overnight in Gombe
After breakfast, pick up and transfer by boat back to Kigoma town. Pick up on arrival and transfer to the airport for your flight back to Dar-es-Salaam.
